That's for Game Pass Standard, you need Ultimate to play TDA.
Definitely worked for me on PC using the $1 trial / 14 days membership. Actually finished the game too.
You can see it's available for install with just Standard.
Actually, you're right - PC Game Pass lets you play it for $1 with the trial. I checked the Game Pass game catalogue and you don't need Ultimate to play it on PC. Xbox would still require Ultimate however.
Actually come to think of it. Could you get the PC trial and then use Xbox Play Anywhere to play it? That is if your PC can't run the game.
I feel like this game lacked some of the soul of the other modern Doom titles. Game Pass is great though.
I got 2 chapters in and stopped playing.. I plan to finish it but it just didn't hook me like Eternal did. I replayed story in Eternal several times, including a nightmare run but not ultra as I def die to stupid shit lol.
It's surprisingly quick though - especially with like a +25/50% bump on game speed, feels much better to play that way. But generally speaking yeah I dunno I'm just not drawn in!
Games these days are just not fun as before. I too played up to the second level/chapter. Didn't go back until my Game Pass Ultimate expired. I didn't bothered to renew it.
I felt the same. The off screen enemies felt cheap, I had to bump up the speed too but I don't think I'll go back to it.
