What's the problem with Nintendo? Switch 2 isn't for me (yet), but they've created some of the best entertainment of all time through innovation, and they look after their employees.
i don't like companies that like to lock down there games to one platform, and makes you buy there hardware just to use there services and games.
I'm a little torn on the concept.
On the one hand, locking down is not great.
On the other hand, I prefer consoles because you just put the game in (or download it) and it just works, no settings, tweaks, or anything.
I think Sony's current approach is probably better, in keeping games timed exclusive then offering them on PC 6 months or a year later.
@witheredcouch: pretty much all there games are on steam now all the exclusives are now pc games and they adding another touch to it is that they added ps5 controller support to all there games which means you can play those game like you were on a PlayStation 5 but with much better FPS and graphics quality. even there VR headset works on PC natively with an adapter now. They used to be massively closed but now they are super open and it works great.
@kungfuman: I gave PC a shot again at the end of last year as my PC has always been more powerful than my PS5.
I hated it, automatic settings weren't accurate, having to tweak and adjust to get to the right balance of framerate/quality for me (I lean towards quality over framerate), driver updates, random crashes etc.
I am more than happy to take a performance hit and have the "it just works" of a console. I don't have the time to bother tweaking or adjusting. When I play a game, I want to just be immediately in the game, and that is what both the PS5 and Switch 2 offer me.
@witheredcouch: lol you sound like a Mac user :D I have been in IT over 20 years for me I don't have problems with maintenance
@kungfuman: Mac involves far too much tweaking to get into a state I like! I am far more comfortable with Windows or Linux.
I am extremely comfortable with maintenance, tweaking etc, I just don't enjoy doing it in my limited free time. If I have a couple of hours to game per week, I don't want to spend 25% of it getting the game set up.
That is why the Switch 2 has been great. Good enough graphics/performance compromise, relatively portable (albeit a lot bigger than I would like), and I get an extra 40 mins of gaming in a day because I can play it on the train. Almost all of the handheld pc's are a bit too big for that (plus I once again don't want to spend my train ride getting settings right).
@witheredcouch: i like true 4k res at 120fps which ps5s and ps5 pros can not do no matter how much they claim they can.
@kungfuman: I luckily (or unluckily) cannot tell the difference between 60 and 120fps (have done many a side by side, just cannot notice it), and am more than happy to pick a higher quality 30fps over a lower quality 60fps, so console is fine for me even if sometimes I would like slightly better visuals.
Always buy physical…
Which game is good for a 10yo? Any recommendations?
Any of the lego games are good.

My son liked these two.
Not on special, but Zelda is good as well.
Luigi mansion 3
Was about to post this, MAKE SURE you buy the Switch 1 version of THPS, it doesn't mention this anywhere, but the Switch 2 version is included if you buy the Switch 1 version, but NOT the other way around.
