Audio Technica AT-LP60X Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable $187 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

230

This was my first turntable and it was a great first turntable. Won't scratch records, has auto stop / start and stylus' are plentiful and cheap. It also has the ability to use a phono stage / amplifier or just straight output as desired.

Not the lowest it's been, but a good enough price to warrant posting it IMO.

Great for a gift or anyone wanting to start a collection, or just listening to a few of the albums that they already have.

Me too, cheapest currently is $388 at JB when price matching harvey norman and using the $30 perks code.

    • Just posted a smashing deal

  • have this its great

  • Agree, great model. Perfect entry level. Upgraded from a shitty Crossley and it is amazing. Bought earlier in year for $194.

  • This one better?

I don’t know anything so just asking

Also what are some good speakers to go with it that are decent bang for buck

    • +1

Slightly better and looks nicer, overall not much difference. At that price you would be better off getting the LP70x or LP120xusb for a bit extra.

      • Ok thanks
I’m guessing there isn’t one out that that will would with apple HomePod speakers

        • Im guessing not as it does not work as a bluetooth speaker. Also the fact that vinyl sounds better when plugged into speakers, although it's ultimately a personal choice.

          • @gusk12: Thanks again
So do you recommend a set of speakers for it?

I’m looking at starting so have no knowledge of it. I just want something that sounds great and is simply to use and won’t damage anything and last too

            • @Twisty: It really depends what setup you're going for. If it's in a living room and you don't want it extremely loud, bookshelf speakers like edifiers are decent. I use some audioengine A2+'s and they're great for casual listening.

              • @gusk12: Yer I don’t need it to blast the sound. Just in the living room to listen to nice a clear good quality tho

                • @Twisty: Exactly what I use it for, I would definitely recommend the audioengine ones due to their size factor. I'm sure there are way more options to choose from though!

                  • @gusk12: Is automatic or manual ones best?

                    • @Twisty: turntable? Automatic ones are easier to use, manual is more work as you have to be there when the record finishes to prevent damage. It's definitely a personal preference

Nah not overly better, a lot of the cheaper models are just rebrands I've found.

As the other commenter mentioned, an LP70x is the better option. The LP120 is kind of a weird one and I'd suggest just ponying up the $1500 for the SL1200 mk7 or grabbing a used mk2-5 for less.

  • My suggestion is buy a great one it will lasts til you die, check out the Technics one on another post

I'd agree if you're a hard core vinyl person, I personally have a SL1200 Mk5 with an Ortofon 2M Blue.

But this isn't for someone like myself or yourself - this is a great starter, for the person who occasionally listens or a budget. Someone dipping their feet without spending massive.

It can work in almost any setup, won't damage LPs and has auto start/stop as mentioned. If someone were to really enjoy it - then you'd look at the Technics as it will require a phono stage (I can suggest the Fosi x5 for the money) - but again comes down to setup cost and complexity too.

  • Thanks mate, was hanging out for this.

I have this and it's excellent. Been going for about 4-5 years now.

  • Can anyone recommend a small footprint table that can accommodate this + speakers?
