Wooooooooooooooooooooooosh
Imagine spending so many years studying oral regions that you're too busy to understand this reference.
Hahaha, fair enough — sorry that went over my head.
At our clinic we try to keep things affordable. We do a 10% price beat if you find a cheaper quote elsewhere, and our $99 check-up and clean is designed to be competitive (though dental equipment is unfortunately expensive).
When you come in for a clean, we also provide a written treatment plan so you can compare prices or decide whether insurance makes sense based on your needs.

Please confirm if this is with the dentist or the dental assistant? Also, is it framed?
Cheers
Hey, it's definitely with the Dentist!
You can't get cleaning done with a dental assistant in Australia; however, you can get it done with Oral Health Therapists.
We do have an Oral health therapist who comes once a week, but just let the receptionist know you only want to see a dentist, and they will book you in accordingly.
My dentist does this every time I go.
No gap
But you pay 5K in premiums each year?
From a dentist perspective, if you have private health and don't have work to do, you are wasting money. The only thing you need is check up and cleans and that usually isn't even close to the yearly premiums of health insurance.
Most clinics will charge 150-250 for a check up and clean and most will be gap free. At that point if you have your oral health sorted and you are maintaining that health by brushing and flossing, then dental health insurance is a bit of a waste.
To be honest, most clinics already offer gap-free check-ups for patients with insurance. What makes this different is the $99 check-up and clean for those without insurance.
We introduced it as a way to give back and help make regular dental care more affordable for everyone.
That's pretty good considering I'm paying 250$
What about kids?
If your child is eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS), their dental visits are bulk billed at no cost to you. The scheme is run by the government for children under 18, and most are automatically included.
CDBS covers a range of basic dental services, including:
Examinations and check-ups
X-rays
Cleans
Fillings
Extractions
Root canal treatment
To check eligibility, we’ll just need your child’s Medicare card number. If you’re unsure, call us and we can confirm this for you.
dentists are rip off in Australia
I understand why people feel that way, but a lot of the cost reflects the training, safety standards, and equipment needed to deliver quality care in Australia. At our clinic, we aim to keep it fair — and if you find a cheaper written quote, we’ll beat it by 10%.
That way, you still get high-quality service while knowing you’re not overpaying.
Where are they cheaper?
Dentistry is cheaper overseas, but many times we see the same patients back in Sydney "fixing" the work they got done there. Keep in mind that everything we do in dentistry is substractive on the tooth, which means at some point there is no fixing what they have done overseas.
There is also no guarantee that the work done overseas will last. It's hard to impossible to get this kind of work rectified overseas or here.
How much do you charge for a root canal on first molar with cap/crown.
The cost of a root canal depends on how many canals are involved, usually ranging from $1,400 to $2,000 and typically completed over 3–4 visits.
The first and most important step is to properly assess whether a root canal is even the right treatment for you and whether the tooth is still salvageable. Once that’s established, the real value comes from choosing quality care. Our treatments are performed to the highest standard and backed with a warranty — something most clinics don’t provide.
By investing in treatment here, you not only protect your tooth in the short term but also save yourself from costly problems and re-treatment in the future, while having peace of mind knowing the work is done right the first time.
man I wish I had that in WA. Ever since my dentist got bought up, the cost slowly jumped from 200 to 400 for a clean.
If you looking for a good dentist in WA, please check out Dr Darren Cai. He is famous in the dental community for some excellent work.
I have a hygienist do my cleans. Decided to save money one day and went with a dentist check up/clean and it was the worst dental experience i've had in my life tbh. The clean was painful and there was lots of blood !
I wouldn’t consider that a positive sign.
During a proper clean, we use an ultrasonic instrument that vibrates and sprays water. Healthy gums, much like healthy skin, should not bleed simply from vibration or water. Bleeding only occurs when tartar has built up and the gums are inflamed; disturbing this tartar during removal is what triggers bleeding.
So if a dentist is consistently finding bleeding where a hygienist never does, it suggests that tartar is being left behind during hygiene visits. In other words, the hygienist may not be thoroughly cleaning.
Think of it like dusting your home—if you stir up dust, you’ll cough because it’s being removed. If you never cough, it often means the dust wasn’t disturbed, and the cleaning wasn’t actually done.
