  • they removed Powershop now

      It's there for me. $320.

      • What state?

        • Vic

          • @funky: Do you mean it's there on the Shopback platform or there when you enter your postcode and see the available list of retailers/plans?

            • @tigerjie: its on the page but when you enter your postcode, they won't be there

              • @hihi: I seem to be able to check out. I just went directly via shopback and looked up powershop that way. Regional Vic.

              • @hihi: Have you signed up before? I have, so when I put my address the $200 credit plan isn't there. I tried with my neighbours address and it appears

  • Does "Cashback is only available to new customers of Compare Electricity and Gas (including existing customers moving into a new premises)" mean that if our current plan was signed up using Econnex we are considered an existing customer?

    • I’ve same question

    • I was specifically advised by shop back that it now one and done. If you've previously taken up the offer you can no longer use the offer again. Not sure why exactly they restricted it but that's what I was advised so don't bother anymore. It's more frustrating that shopback aren't clear about this. Kinda pointless for a large majority of users on here now.

  • If I have used compare energy via the shopback platform in 2023, would I qualify? It says new customer so this could be used as a reason to deny cashback.

      I have same question

    • +3

It'll still work I change every few months when I see a deal

      • Do you use app or desktop?

        • +1

I use desktop usually if I'm doing this, less fiddly

    • If we are talking specifically about cash back It does not work. It's strictly one and done now. I've had my last one rejected specifically on those grounds. I've had this confirmed by shop back rep. It's very frustrating to get these emails every few weeks knowing you can't use them anymore. At least cash rewards does 6 month return on offer.

Not sure about the direct ecconex rewards card though.

  • Is 'Compare Electricity and Gas' on the Compare The Market website ?
    https://www.comparethemarket.com.au/energy/compare/

    • That’s a different comparison company, this is Econnex

      • Cashback is only available to new customers of Compare Electricity and Gas

I was referring to this condition (above).

Signing up through Econnex is not eligible for the cashback, so I was wondering how to get the cashback.

        • +1

And I was pointing out that this offer is thru Econnex, not comparethemarket.com.au, as your question seemed to imply

          • @BigBirdy: I'm talking about this, in OP's main description:

Direct sign-ups via Econnex.com.au, sign-ups made on behalf of another person, or new connections (e.g. where no meter is installed) are not eligible.

Since "direct sign-ups" are not eligible, how to be a " new customer of Compare Electricity and Gas " ?

            • +1

@whyisave: comparethemarket.com.au is a different company, unrelated to this offer. If you can find other companies offering cashback for changing energy suppliers, good for you, post them as another Ozbargain deal.

              • @BigBirdy: I am talking about this condition, in the OP's main description:

Cashback is only available to new customers of Compare Electricity and Gas (including existing customers moving into a new premises).

What does it mean by "new customers of Compare Electricity and Gas" ?
because the other condition also says "Direct sign-ups via Econnex.com.au, are not eligible for cashback".

                • +1

@whyisave: @gotyourback can you help here please?

                • +1

@whyisave: Likely means that you need to go through Shop back and not directly via the econnex website.

  • In Vic, currently with powershop. Not finding any others with upfront credit.

  • Did the econnex for a prepaid mastercard back in june, yet to hear anything from them

    • Did it last year and never heard anything. Oh well. Cheap rates but no prepaid MC. Trying again this year.

  • FYI, I switched my electricity on June 18th with Shopback Compare (is that different to Econnex? I'm not sure), but got my cashback confirmed today.

  • Im with powershop what is the best one to move to?

  • +1

Thanks OP switched gas to Alinta. Cheaper supply and usage rates NSW.

    • Same for me. Fingers crossed Alinta is good!

I was with Engie (for their sign-on bonus) - I knew they were more expensive, but July they further increased both supply AND usage for my gas by 20%… My gas bill with Engie was ~45% more expensive than my estimate using Alinta's current gas rates…

  • what does this mean?

"Cashback is only available to new customers of Compare Electricity and Gas (including existing customers moving into a new premises)."

I used econnex at a previous address > then switched to a diff provider > then moved house and have not used econnex at this address?

    Am i eligible?

  • Just received the mc card from Econnex’s April deal; moved to powershop. Are we still eligible for this deal if we move to another provider?

  • +1

Would hop on this but have had bad experience with ShopBack tracking compared to other platform. Tried with Exetel deal where they were doing $140 cashback and that didnt track either.

    • +1

They are all rubbish. Made sure I did everything correctly with a TopCashback/Superloop $100 cashback deal and it didn't track. I'm now in no man's land where support have provided little support and you just cross your fingers that it finally gets tracked and approved 6 months down the track.

      • +1

it won't unless you submit a claim/missing cashback via click history. I always screen record Cashbacks just in case. To date, several years on have never had an unpaid one. Have had a couple of untracked, but were paid after submitting a claim and uploading proof of purchase. All were my own fault i.e. forgetting to turn off Adblocker or using browser like Brave etc.

      • Personally never had any issue with CR or TCB. Always with SB though.

Next time I'll just go with the other two even if the cb is slightly less.

  • Expired for me, only $80 offered

  • Any way to filter results for green energy?

  • looks like a bit of work and may not come back also - do these come regularly, is it legit ?
