  • No Sonos Arc Ultra deals?

  • Definitely some good prices on headphones…

  • +1

Warning for iPhone users that even the lowest volume setting is really loud on these, and there is no way to make it any quieter.

    • Can't you just EQ it/volume limit it through iOS/App?

      • EQ doesn't help much. The only EQ you get is the one in the Sonos app. There's no volume limiter in iOS.

        • Odd. I have a type c DAC which makes my IEMs way too loud so I just downloaded an EQ app which works on a per device basis called Wavelet. I'm on android so maybe look for an alternative if it doesn't exist?

    • What about the sound check button in settings? I realised mine was on some how.

      • I heard from a video that the lowest volume doesn't go down past ~20%. Does this fix the issue? I kind of want one but this is really holding me off.

  • ATL just about

  • Shame about the latency. These could address a gaming + multimedia niche really well otherwise. Assuming you’re already in the Sonos ecosystem.

I don’t think the mic is passed through via soundbar either.

    • +1

had no idea about the latency until i used XM6, night and day difference

  • These headphones single handedly killed Sonos… that and my Move 2 which had rampant connectivity issues (moved house, changed routers, changed iPhones).

    • +1

      Nothing killed Sonos.
The app that was rushed out last year to support these headphones definitely did some damage but the brand is still there.

      • You're right, I just reckon they stuffed that app up hard enough for me to not be so inclined to get any more of their products… or at least unwilling to trust the brand and expecting issues for anything of theirs I purchase.

    • These headphones single handedly killed Sonos

      How so?

I own a pair and they're great, and Sonos is still very much alive.

      • Try a pair of xm6s.

        • They can't connect to my Sonos soundbar though.

          • @topherboi: I do not understand that use case… you watch a movie through speakers and headphones at the same time? Or listen to music through speakers and sound bar?

            • @nea ozb: Not simultaneously, it's either one or the other. The idea is that you can easily switch between the two devices.

I use mine daily because I live in a shared house and like my privacy but also don't want to disrupt others with my movies/music, etc.

  • Wow these were $700 when they launched only 18 months ago. And the ATL was $530 only 9 months ago. $380 is great.

    • To me that says the launch price was a joke.

When you have the Bose and Sony headphones in the 300-400 range, this was never attractive at 700.

  • Just an update on my experience for whoever interestedI've tried lots of headphones over years and this one by far the most comfortable one.
I use it for office and home and bluetooth connectivity is the best. Get the closest device mostly right and switching between devices is almost instant.

Noise cancelation is also really good.

The sound signature is rich and loud enough and sound great. Very close to AirPods Max and not as V-shaped EQ and boomy as Sony or Bose.

The design is sleek and doesn't creat the egg shape bump on your head. TBH I feel I look silly when I wear a Sony headphone (Except the legendary XM4).

Not a fan of its volume button but still fall better than a touch one. App is also very basic and dissapointing.

I would give it a 9/10 leave the Sonos system integration alone.
