I sometimes toy with the idea of purchasing a turntable but thankfully come to my senses before I do.

I will have to go through my vinyl one day, as see if there is anything that does not exist elsewhere (hopefully meaning that the Bluetooth feature will not be relevant to me).

Some interesting points that an audiophile reminded me off the other day:
    - Some if these 'new' vinyl re-releases use the CD release as the master, as the masters are no longer available.
    - Some cheap turnstile needles damage the vinyl grooves at a much greater rate than the more expensive type.
    - Some turnstiles have irreplaceable needles (though I am sure this does not apply to the one in this post).

I have seen some beautiful looking turntables, and thought maybe I will get one, until I see the price tag is 20K+

I remember how amazing CD's were when they first came out. Was so happy to ditch vinyl mainly due to record wear, that seemed to plaque me despite how careful I was with my discs.

Another interesting snippet of information is that (apparently) there is an increase in CD purchases, due to the newer digital versions having changes made to them, such as increasing the volume, or applying autotune to older recordings such as Freddie Mercury voice from Queen. (the uptake must be for pre-existing or non remastered CD's, as I am sure the new versions would make it to CD as some point.

What’s this turnstile that you’re referring to fella? Maybe something to get the plaque off your teeth!

Analog to digital to analog. I might be missing the point of getting vinyl.

  • What? TURNSTILE?….anything like a TURNTABLE?
Worse than that "that seemed to plaque me"….I presume you mean "plague",which is completely the wrong word in this context. You also miss the whole concept of vinyl.
The analogue sound of vinyl cannot be replicated on CD.

    Buy a Denon instead.

The Australian distributor TAG are crap to deal with.

    Never again.
