For a game played ages ago such as these (and know it inside out), the platinum trophies makes (IMO) the play through especially more worthwhile/ add another layer to/ make them more enjoyable to go through with again.

@jollyrogga: A lot of people don't bother anymore, it takes a while to get approval, if a post doesn't gain traction immediately theres no kudos, and a lot of the time it's clearance deals or very short time offers so people abuse because by the time they see it theres none left or its over.
