Damn tempting. Would love one of these to commute to tafe but I’d be worried someone would pinch it.

      sad world we live in

This has find my built in plus it has a pin code option and abnormality alert function for if it's moved.
Throw a good lock on and you'd be pretty safe I think.
It can't be used without the pin code if the pin lock is setup and it has a very loud beeping noise if moved when the abnormality alert is on.

      • Thanks for letting me know, making me feel more confident about it!

  • Any similar priced ones with dual motors?

  • Bought at full price at release. Hacked it and it does now 35km/h but I wouldn't recommend it as the chassis and brakes aren't designed for this speed.

Had an accident on it and broker 4 bones and it is now sitting in the garage for almost 6 months now.

Still I think e scooters are a good life changing transport for short distance.

Definitely does sound life changing for you. Before the scooter you had all your bones intact.. presumably.

    • Is it up for sale?

    • This was me. Bought it at $800 price match to JB, rode 12km both ways to work in the city. Upped the speed to 35 km/h, then unlocked it completely to 45km/h driving only on the bike path to and from work. Bought myself a motorcycle helmet just in case.
Then one day coming home from work, some car pulls out of the driveway without looking and i've hit the ground and put three holes in my left kidney and a broken arm.
Fixed up the scooter and sold it, never rode it again.
Switch to an E-Bike instead, bigger wheels and better brakes - feels much safer overall.

    • They are designed to go to 35km/h, they're just speed limited to 25km/h in Aus. In the US, Canada and I assume other countries it maxes at 22mph (35kmh). Sorry about your accident though, 4 bones is no joke.

  • FYI, segway Australia official store sells refurbished one for 699 aud.

  • How is this for a 12 km commute (each way) along a protected bike trail? I only have about 300m of total public roads. And there is a plug in the office bike room I can probably charge it if needed.

As someone who cycles along these trails, I'd say please use the roads.
That's where these motorised vehicles are supposed to be used.

      • I used to ride the cycle path with my scooter every day and i'm in two minds about it. There are plenty of cyclists that are overtaking me going 35+ km/h in road bikes on the bicycle path, and then there's the dude riding his wolf scooter going 55km/h. Also plenty of modded e-bikes on the bike path that are just casually riding at 40km/h.

    • As an owner of this model, you should have more than enough battery for 24km in sport mode.

    • Hey mate, this sounds like the commute i used to do (north of the river to Perth and back in the afternoon). Absolutely no issues with the distance or battery, but you'll have to charge it once a day. You'll go from 80% to 30-40% by the end of the day.
In my experience, took me about 25 minutes going @ 25km/h, and up to 18 minutes when it got unlocked to 40km/h+.
