Online Pet Store Recommendation

Hey OzBargain crew,

What is our pet-owners go to online store for Pet Supplies? Need some beds for my dogs as well as recurring worm treatment, food etc.

Seems to be significant differences in price and I'm not sure they have associated difference in quality.

TIA

  • Accessories = kmart
Worm/flea treatment = budget pet products

    • budget pet products is good, buit they charge a delivery fee to my address, however a friend 2km away in a diff suburb same postcode has it free.

    • Boo - no love for Western Australia on their site, no free delivery.

  • +1

Pet circle, they usually have first time customer discount codes

    • +1

they will also price match if you find it cheaper on other websites.

    • I battled to get off their mailing list after I did a order. Use a disposable email address with Pet Circle.

    • This, and petbarn has buy 2 bags for cheaper price on the food I get so it's been winning lately.

  • Avoid pet stock. Even when they have 20% off plus 20% cash back they are still expensive.

    • yeah most expensive ever

  • +2

Pet Circle are fast when it comes to delivery time and they will beat a cheaper price if you find one.

    • unless theres a code applied

  • petbarn is good for the food i buy, usually the cheapest and will deliver to me free with uber eats

    • Pet Barn is pretty pricey I find - sometimes some good deals from sales etc. When I got in person to a real store they are super pricey - but if you are a petbarn member you can price match with any price you find on the internet as long as it's Australia (sometimes saving quite a bit of money).

      • for what i ordered in the past it was cheapest, for the same food now, its more expensive,

edit: sorry as posted above, I'll leave the comment so you REALLY don't miss it

This is also the best website to have open on your phone when shopping in store, the big box stores will match prices

  • Usually PetCircle, but for worming, sometimes it's cheaper on Amazon.

  • Hi @Azrael169, I started a pet products and supplies business recently and would love to help you and anyone else out.

My website is located at https://www.aspenspantry.com.au.

I haven't yet listed everything so if you are looking for specific products and/or brands, let me know and I'll be able to help. I am on par or beating prices of the larger retailers and I'm based in the Sutherland Shire.

Happy to answer any questions you have.

  • Kazoo isn't budget but their gear will last

  • Petpost. Pet Circle, however haven’t been as price competitive lately.

  • My dog was on a kidney diet in the last couple of years of her life and I had to order food in - I live in rural QLD, so shipping was always the critical point (especially when you're buying heavy slabs of dog food). I used Vets Love Pets for her food as they offer free shipping, even for bulky orders (over a certain amount). From memory, I got the best price for her Simparica Trio (flea/worming etc stuff) from either the Vet Shed or Vet Supply. I always found the quality of products from all three were great - Vets Love Pets have especially great customer service. Hope that helps!

  • For food/ medicine I find the cheapest price online and then just get pet barn to price match in store …but that’s just convenient since I live close and am disorganised
