Motorola Defy+ (from Telstra): Overheat / Rebooting problems

Hi All,

Got one of the $99 Motorola Defy+ [Telstra prepaid] and have just started using it. In the first day it has overheated (hugely, and drained the battery) and it keeps re-booting every time I try to make or receive a call.

Anyone else experienced this problem with a Defy+? Any comments would be very helpful. Should I just take it back to Telstra and ask for a replacement?

  • Sounds faulty, return and get it swaped for a new one on the 14day garantee

    • Sadly, I bought it last year for Mum but she's just started using it this week, so way past the 30 day instant replacement period :/

      • should still be under warranty for 12 month

      • +1

These phones have poor battery life when there in low reception areas, I believe they pump up the radio power and in the process deplete the battery, can go from 100% to 0% in a few hours

I have 5 of these phones and none are rebooting or heating up (any more than other smart phones that is)

Question is did you apply any mods? Say the unlock/CM flashing? If something went wrong it could be the cause

        • Nope, nothing like that. Took it out the box and put in a Telstra SIM. It's going back to the T-shop tomorrow… hopefully it won't take too long to be repaired :/
