Mine had a button to get another $15 off, so $144.99 after that and the Visa code.

Edit: Not that I bought it. I don't trust HP and will probably get a Brother when it's time to replace my aging Samsung.

      Samsung is a rebranded HP

  • Is hp still disabling newer printers if they use third party cartridges?

    • Considering a replacement cartridge is around $70 that wouldn’t surprise me.

Edit: actually that’s the price for a compatible cartridge. Official HP cartridge is $141 on Amazon

    HP printer cannot be trusted

  • +1

    HP printer, do not trust

  • +1

Sometimes done of the printer company's "improvements" come about with firmware updates, so I never update firmware on my printers

HP are cannibalising their print customers, would not buy.

Bugger, i need a printer and this price range is perfect but (profanity) HP

    • Brother mono is always affordable, for supplies too

      • yeah that is a good printer, i just kinda want a scanner too, and i guess colour as well. so basically i want more than i can get for that price haha

      • I heard the latest few models also check toner.

  • Don't buy HP trash, I made that mistake and then when I saw the price of new toner I went and got a brother hl-l2305 off marketplace for $30 instead

  • +1

the printers may be slightly cheaper, but HP are horrid and are NOT consumer friendly

    • +3

      Get an OKI laser printer.

      Brilliant units

      • Agreed, the print amount of prints per toner is a lot higher also.
For $149 this thing will do 2k+ prints, the HP one I believe is ~700.

        • This sounds like a really good option.

Can we easily use third-party toner with the Oki?

Edit - oh… from the specs, it doesn't have Wifi printing. Still, very high yield!

  • You can get a Brother HL-L2445DW for around the same price or cheaper, an excellent printer without the reputation of HP.

Friends don’t let friends buy HP. (They have highly objectionable restrictions on what toner you can use)

    • +1

Restrictions on toner is just the tip of the HP iceberg. Mine required internet connectivity to print. If you didn't let it phone home it would print white pages even tho it had full ink. Ofcourse, it only told you this after you bought it and read the manual: https://i.imgur.com/lkRbCio.jpeg

I saw this deal and though what a bargain for a laserjet…then read all the comments and seems like Brother printers are the way to go (and not to trust HP)…thanks all for saving me some research time and for the advice, I knew I could count on my fellow OzBargainers 🍻

Rather be dragged by the tongue through a sea of molten glass infested with titanium sharks by a whining feminist than use a HP printer again.
