    which ones do you guys find that its closest to proper espresso shot like a short black?? Mine are Onyx, Ultimo and Lungo Profondo

      I find to get the intensity of a proper shot you have to double up ie two shots of ultimo (although I generally have a 1/4 long black ie two short shots plus about 2cm of water)

        How do you ask for that when buying coffee?

        I like a similar brew, and general ask for "half cup" but I often get a basic espresso or a nearly full cup of weak black water. Particular if the person I'm talking to doesn't make the coffee, just takes the money.

        It's frustrating

          I dont buy coffee that often (make it at home) but I usually ask for a double shot long black but only fill the cup to half way (or a double shot short black and fill the cup half way - this is usually stronger because the short black cup is smaller). That usually works.

          But if the cafe doesnt seem sophisticated enough to deal with that complexity, I order a small coffee double shot (so long as its actually small, not Pawnee small https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ish8NBunrQU )

    After trying dozens of pods, and preferring a reasonably strong cappucino, my personal top two picks are:
    Moccona Dark Roast Espresso (Intensity 10)
    L'OR Espresso Supremo (Intensity 10)

    Here's my tier list for Nespresso Pods lol

    1. Moccona Dark Roast (10) - Quite nice, not too strong, tastes a bit fruity,
    2. L’or Supremo (10) - Good strength, a tie for first place, like moccona dark roast
    3. Nescafé India (9) - Nice enough, but only medium strength
    4. Starbucks Smooth Caramel (5) - Nice caramel taste, mild but enjoyable coffee strength, prefer coffee only pods though
    5. Starbucks Blonde (6) - Mild but good (use double shot) maybe bit too weak!
    6. Starbucks House Blend (8) - Maybe the next “best” after Blonde, don’t buy again
    7. Nescafé Columbia (6) - Mild, decent tasting, drinkable, don’t buy again
    8. Moccona Extra Dark Roast (12) - Quite good also, fruity, similar to Dark Roast, just too strong, don’t buy again
    9. Dalley Street Medium Roast Smooth (8) - Maybe TOO mild, tastes decently drinkable,
    10. Community Co Espresso (13) - Strong, decent tasting, it’s ok, but don’t buy again
    11. Moccona Medium Roast Lungo (8) - Too mild, don’t buy again
    12. Moccona Dark Roast Lungo (10) - Tastes generic, kind of weak, don’t buy again,
    13. Community Co Medium Roast (8) - Too weak, tastes like barely anything, don’t buy again
    14. Starbucks Pike Place (7) - Stronger, tastes worse, barely drinkable, don’t buy again
    15. Starbucks Columbia (7) - Too strong, tastes generic, barely drinkable, dont buy again
    16. Starbucks Sumatra (10) - Way stronger, tastes not good, UNDRINKABLE
    17. Starbucks Italian Style (11) - Yuck, burnt ant taste, too strong, UNDRINKABLE

      I suggest if you are after supermarket pods to get Campos or Lavazza, generally better than anything on your list.
