$941 return to LA is pretty cheap, but if any Ozbargainers have anything other than lilly white pale skin, factor in there's always the chance it might be a one way trip, so therefore not as good value !!

You get a free flight to El Salvador though

      • good point. Surely it's more expensive to book a flight direct to El Salvador than $941 !!!

        • The handcuffs might be a slight inconvenience

You couldn't pay me $941 to go to that shithole right now.

    • What about a quick transfer to Canada or the Caribbean?

I was there in January during the fires.

I'm not a pale skinned person but I didn't feel like I'd get deported or detained or anything. I think people are overblown the situation a bit (for now).

It's a pretty dilapidated city, homeless person on every street. Dog poop everywhere. Hollywood is pretty crap. Santa Monica is iconic, but kinda meh.

Getty attractions and observatory were the best things there.

On the plus side, a friend is over in California now and he said the line for most rides at Disneyland was less than an hour!

I hear Vegas is very quiet too.

      • Not really.. I was there in March and while it wasn't bustling quite a number of ppl there. I think its better if not over crowded

You can think what you like - but the facts are the facts.
Numbers are 12% down on same time last year, and numbers have been declining for six months straight.
Even their property prices are down.

    • Waits for most rides at Disneyland are under an hour unless you go during the US School holiday season. That has always been the case. Longest wait times for us were around 20 mins and many were walk on when we were last there a couple of years ago. Same for for Disneyworld. I find people who complain about the long waits are either there during peak school holiday periods or otherwise at the peak time of day/week. They can be avoided if you plan well, arrive at rope drop and use lightning lanes strategically. Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea are even better (if you don't mind the rides being in Japanese).

Was there in May this year. Disneyland lines were quick as. Same with Universal Studios (15m or less most rides).

Avoid hollywood its shit, Santa monica good for bars and site seeing, Anaheim for Disney then finish off in vegas and lose whatever money you have left.

Had zero issues with the current state of affair.

    Heaps of fun :D

Same.. but went to Magic Mountain $50 a day pass as Universal @ $230 a ticket was too much (been before tho) probably why no lines tho.
