Was looking to get a new pair of Jabra only to learn that they don't make Elite range anymore.

So went looking for best audio quality, was gonna buy Earfun Air Pro 4 or Soundpeats equivalent with the Snapdragon chip but came across these instead.

48% off resulting in $119.99. Even cheaper than Ace.

Apparently punches above its price range, and at almost half price it was a no brainer.

Note: You have been warned. Buy this for sound quality, don't buy this for ANC (bad implementation). It suits my usage scenario where I don't care for ANC or Transparency mode etc.

  • I had these for a few months and had to return them becuase they fell apart (literally one ear popped into 2 pieces, seems like the glue used is not good). The sound quality is very good on these.

For those who want ANC, I've been very impressed with JBL tour pro 3 that were listed on here a week back. Controls are ok, everything else has been great. ANC is best I've had (when using foam tips).

    • I was underwhelmed with Soundcore Liberty 4 ANC. They get good reviews, but IMO when running next to road traffic, 19db earplugs would do a better job and cutting road noise while running is all I need ANC for. That said, Anker were great, immediately offering cash back. I'm now on the hunt for better.

ANC: JBL Tour Pro 3 performs 50,000 adjustments/sec; Soundcore Liberty 4 updates every .3 seconds.

Waterproofing: The JBLs are IPX4, so not as good as Liberty 4, which are IPX5 (probably better for a sweaty-head).

    • Are these JBL xMEMS?

      • Don't think so, they have a lot of models.

The value move would then be to opt for the AKG N5. You get great audio quality via the dongle, good ANC, good mic via the dongle.

      • Hi, could you explain what you mean via dongle? Do they not have good audio/anc/mic when not using the dongle? Thanks

You're comparing LDAC (up to 990 kbit, typically 660 kbit), with lossless - or at least hi-def - LC3Plus, with a peak operation likely above 1100 kbit.

          • @jasswolf: oh cool, so i just plug that dongle into my phones usb c port to get that quality?

Also, i have denon perl pro how would they compare?

@essent1al: Wait for a more substantial upgrade unless you need increased call quality or want a PC solution.

              • @jasswolf: ok thank you for your advice jass!

              • @jasswolf: In your experience, which is a good bud for Team calls ? I had buds 3 pro for use with PC and it picks up people talking in the background. Looking for upgrade

                • @bestbarginever: The AKG N5 would be one of the best by far due to the dongle, but IEM stems are a crappy place for a mic.

That being said, the Galaxy Buds Pro 3 should also be excellent, ensure you haven't disabled any of the noise cancellation and other features to improve voice quality.

Beyond that if you're in an environment where there's a lot of noise that is dynamic, such as people audibly talking near you, the microphone and processing will have a hard time when you're not speaking, and that's a limitation of current technology.

In time, either the phone or the device processing will be trained to your voice specifically and filter out others via an additional setting.

  • I bought these in November for $111.96. The sound is very good quality for the price, but the ANC is pretty piss poor on them unfortunately.
