SFF PC Users - What Are You Using?

Hey all,

My GPU's kicked the bucket so I'm considering a new PC build; I'm coming from a Shiny Snake S300 which was a tad small for my liking, so aiming for a 15-25L mATX build. Planning for a 7800X3D and probably a 9070 XT. Was tossing up the Lian Li DAN A4-H2O but don't want to bother with liquid cooling. Will probably go for the ID-COOLING Frozn A720.

Question: what cases/setups are people using? I know there's a few other ITX users on OzB XD

The new DeepCool CH160 PLUS has piqued my interest, but the Jonsbo Z20 remains an option too; kinda torn between which to pick. Thoughts on these 2 cases or any other recommendations? Wanting to maximise GPU compatibility whilst not going too big or spending Fractal Terra kinda money.

Cheers

I have an air cooled Lian Li DAN A4-H2O. Running a 7600x and 4060ti. It is cooled with a Thermalright axp90-x47 full copper plus a couple of extra fans on top to extract air. No issues with heat or noise.

OP, I have this setup as Hellfire but with 7800X3D and 7900XTX. A pair of Phanteks T30 fans for top air extraction works well so you shouldnt have any issues with your parts if you do the same thing. I used to have liquid cooling but ended up ditching it.

Don't have enough experience with the CH160 or Z20 to make a comment on them but a quick glance at the pages seem to show me that they are capable cases.

    • Lian Li DAN A4-H2O fits MATX?

Hey, I'm looking for the same thing
Have the meshroom and shiny snake g300 on my list.

Am particularly interested in the G300 because it is under 20l (16.8l) and large enough to accommodate an ATX PSU with >300mm GPU.

Reddit led me to this site, it makes comparing these a little easier though it is non-exhaustive

I literally just built an SFF PC on Monday. 9800x3d and 5080 combo. I used the NR200P V2 Max (comes with PSU and CPU AIO cooler) and honestly I couldn’t be happier how it turned out. Not to mention I don’t know how I could possibly go smaller given the GPU I had was triple slot.

I’ll be doing a partpicker shortly with pictures I’ll link here. The NR200P offers heaps of compatability for a slightly larger SFF footprint but I think based on dimensions it’s similar to both cases you listed above.

Extremely happy with noise and temps and the cable management took about two hours but it’s very clean, no RGB. I’m coming from a full custom loop for CPU and GPU in a Lian Li O11D so I was expecting much higher noise levels for noise.

Only mod I made to the case was change the fans on the AIO to Noctuas because people mentioned a clicking noise from the coolermaster fans. I didn’t bother use them to find out and swapped out as the first step of the build. I also swapped them from exhausting through the radiator out the top, to intake. Just didn’t make sense to pump hot GPU air through the radiator.

  • Not really that interesting given it's kind of all in one but I'm running a NZXT H1 V2 with a minisforum bd795i motherboard (Ryzen 7945HX CPU soldered on) and 6800xt.

If you want something oddball but powerful the minisforum gear is worth a look, although can be a bit of a crapshoot. They do an X3D variant too but price isn't that compelling.

Formd T1 2.5 on 7800x3d and 4070TiS. Thermalright AXP-X47 full copper with a Noctua fan and Arctic Cooling P12 PWM PST case fans. Fan Control supports all fans including the ridiculously noisy mobo chipset fan, so it runs reasonable temps and noise levels.

    • Nice, did you buy the Formd T1 straight from their website or was it elsewhere?

Sorry for the late reply. I bought it from their website right before Christmas. I had a habit of just going to their website and seeing the other cases out of stock. Lo and behold, one day the black one was available so I snapped it up. Don't think I've ever seen any of the other colours available, so I just took what I could.

Also, correction: it was a T1 v2.1. Not sure why I wrote v2.5. I guess even the naming system for the two companies confuse people even after purchasing!

    hmm…

I found the best mATX for function and price is the SAMA IM01 and variants, but near impossible to get in Australia… I picked up one secondhand… its barely bigger than the NR200 and allows mATX board..
