Your Experience Renting a Suit

Hi,

I am in Melbourne and need to hire a suit (a tuxedo). Anyone have any recommendations on a good place to go based on personal experiences?

While online searching, I came across suitor.com.au It is a site where you hire a suit online, they send it to you for the occasion, and then you return it after use. Has anyone used this site, and what was your experience? What was the quality of the suit and what was its condition?

Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Go into a men's suit shop that rents tuxes. The guy will measure you up and then order one to be sent to his shop overnight from a massive warehouse full of tuxes. Go and pick up the suit a day later from the shop. Wear it. Drop it off on Monday to the same shop. Easy stuff dude.

    • haha, yeah possible, but I want to do this as an above board rental.

      • What I described is a typical and normal way to rent a tux though.

        • Sorry, I misread your solution Bombastig, and thought you were implying returning a bought suit. A thousand apologies! A thousand and one apologies! Very sorry about that.

I am asking to hear people's experiences and recommendations for specific stores in Melbourne (brick and mortar stores) vs the entirely online (and yet to be confirmed quality) of suitor.com.au that I am considering using. I imagine some OzBargainers may have used that store…

          • @pc username: Fair enough. I'd avoid online as you need to be measured. Find a store that rents tuxes out and has a decent Google Business review score and go there. You don't need to overthink this one, it's an easy transaction and hard to get wrong.

  • Don't do it online sight unseen.

Go to B&M suit hire shop and get it fitted.

If you do rent online, make sure you pay with a gift card and make sure you let us know how it all worked out for you.
