Dishmatic: Is There Actually a Difference between General Purpose and Micro-Soft Non Scratch Refills?

For the first time I bought one lot of the micro-soft alongside several packs of the general purpose because they were on sale. I bougth them online so I was going in blind.

Apart from the colour, I can't tell the difference. They look and feel like an identical texture, roughness, pad thickness etc.

Are they actually different, or is this pointless marketing enshitifcation, like expiry dates on non-food items and ailment specific ibuprofen.

I've always just used the regular ones, even on non-stick surfaces.

What are you talking about ?
    What’s a dish matic?

I just put my dishes in the dishwasher and they get washed

There used to be a difference. The new "non-scratch" would damage soft/transparent plastics eg Klip It containers.
The old micro-soft (yellow pad) were 100% non-scratch but the new ones - I wouldn't trust them.

The standard feels marginally courser IMO. I might do a scratch test and see if I can see a difference.

I think there is. I find that the blue "micro-soft" ones aren't as abrasive as the green "standard" ones.
