Good price on the M4 chip

M4 chip? Where from?

He needs to go back to school and learn his maths again. He didn’t get it for half price. He bought a second hand one for $1k.

How?

Cash converters?

Work yes, but play? I thought Apple computers and gaming are still mutually exclusive XD

Basically yes if you think of "PC Gaming", but if you think of emulation, M4 is a capable ARM chip so it can do plenty of emulation, also if you use parallels probably quite a few games will run decently well.
They'll be tests online for the performance, it's surprisingly capable, I'd just be concerned in the MacBook Air shell when running intense workloads, just how hot it may get under sustained loads.

If you have decent internet you can also stream. GeforceNow/cloud.gg is amazing when you live in Sydney with 2ms latency to their data center.

Ah ha ha.
About 1/3 of my Steam collection works on my M4 .
It's not too bad.

Gaming is such a subjective term.
I love playing Team Fight Tactics, and although my windows PC is a recent one, it still drains around 20% battery on a single 30min game with a locked framerate.
My macbook air M2? Sometimes it hardly drains 3%, whilst hitting a higher framerate than my 12th Gen Intel (with Iris Xe Graphics). Macbooks not great at variation on games, but what games they play, they slay.
It's the main reason I still have a macbook.
For capital g Gamers, yeah. But for casual or retro gamers, it's perfectly fine

OOS?

Still available, if it shows OOS then it doesn't ship to you. Try a different postcode/address if possible.

Thanks for the tip. It's probably a bug, it started working after I switched between addresses/profiles.

I think this would be my go to recommendation for most people wanting a laptop that aren't highly technical / could learn macOS if they haven't used it (most people I think could learn and get used to macOS).
I have an M1 MBA and it's great, so the M4 would only be better again I imagine, I will say, would rather the 512GB option if you're going to keep it for more than 3 years, as after the OS it's not the largest storage left, also the larger the SSD typically the faster is performs, which over time will matter, probably won't on day 1 to day 600…

the M4 chip lets you fly through work and play.
Fly? ✈️
Through work and play?!
Overselling much?
Either that or this ought to make taking flights redundant.
Actually the battery is prob long enough for a decent flight

sounds like that lawsuit against red bull which is completely bs imo

I have MBA 16gb/256gb and here are my thoughts. It needs more ram, storage would be nice but I still have 100gb free of the 250gb but the 16gb is not enough in 2025! Sorry Tim but my Lenovo was less than my MBA and it came with 32gb DDR5, 1TB and best OLED 16" for around $1200 delivered to my door and its bloody-awesome! Still I keep my MBA in my bedroom for surfing and content as well as OZB shopping at 1am… Ai is going to quickly change the world and MEMORY is where apple can be left easily behind as the desktop just went for 64gb to 96gb and next year will get another 96gb and a better GPU and Im not alone.
FYI the new iPhones got a ram boost, the iPhone15 got 4gb, the iPhone16 got 6gb and the iPhone 17 got 8gb and the AIr/Max&Pro get 12gb… At the same time as even cheapo andiods get 12-16gb on even base models and now googles andriodOS has caught up with apple on memory management (as my TV can atest to with updates it now rocks and I cant justify a new one as its so fast now comaopred to the 3 years ago when I bought it)

counterpoint — 16GB is fine

This makes little sense.

OW pricebeat Amazon?

Looks like ow has already matched Amazon's.

Whats a computer?

a Retupmoc.
Next.

it's a thing used to watch pr0nography.

R U OK?

I paid twice this for the previous chip, did include larger screen and more ram and storage, but still.

Bet in 3 months I get another 5% off at OW.
They did this on my IP16p 3 months after release. (black model only)
I bet in 6 months you'll get 10% off!
