GPS dedicated device with cheapest inter-changeable country maps

Hi

I am thinking of doing some overseas travel soon and I am after a GPS device , car or handeheld not a phone, that has an easy and cheap option of changing maps to new countries.

Dont want a phone cause all phones I have used previous can never get a GPS signal or need internet data and never as efficient as a dedicated GPS device.

  • Try something like this. $40 with shipping!
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Built-in-4GB-4-3-Compact-GPS-7-1x…

You can easily find maps on sites like GPSunderground for free and update!

    • thats brilliant thanks, and that is the exact GPS unit I currently have which i got from Aldi for $99 about 4 years ago.

Which means I can prob just download the maps only and put it on to my aldi device.

      Thanks for the info!

  • yes you can. I think it should be running a mapping prog call iGo Primo.

    • thanks for that, I know it uses Sensis maps which I think is iGO

any other good resources you can recommend to download iGo maps?
