Advice on Getting a Multi Head Air Conditioner System Installed

I am looking at getting a multi room multi head split system air conditioner installed in my house. Two units downstairs (5-5.5kw) each and two units upstairs (3.5kw) each.
To be powered 12.5kw outdoor unit. It is to replace my failed Fujitsu system that faithfully served for almost 2 decades.

I was wondering if anyone had a positive experience with https://wholesaleaircon.com.au/ that seem to be quoting a sharp price for the system? Or any other places I should approach? We decided to go with Fujitsu hopefully to utilise some existing tubing.

Many thanks in advance

  • Your current system also multihead?

Most brands will be able to use the existing tubing/cables.

Are you getting them to install it also?

Regardless of the brand you pick, I'd ensure whoever you get to install it is an authorised agent for the brand as they will know how to troubleshoot any problems and install it correctly. Also if a problem arises, you're not caught in the middle of incorrect installation and the manufacturer.

    • I checked for authorized stockists in my area and reached out to one on the list (Bing Lee) who informed me that they don't really do multi head system installations. Only single split units

Give Fujitsu a call on who their authorised service agent (not just stockist) is around you for installation.

      • Noob q but what is a multi head system? Is it any similar to ducted?

Had 2x Mitsubishi multiheads installed 3 years ago and very happy with them. Personally, I would get the installer / dealer to supply and install the units, so if there are any issues, they can handle the product and installation warranty.

    • I received a quote from Mitsubishi. Would you know what is the warranty like on these units? The did a quote for both Multihead system and individual units

  • Multiheads are pretty expensive. I found multiple units to be a lot cheaper. Is that an option?

Unfortunately there is a space limitation. There is a space for one big outdoor unit.

      • Roof?

        • Solar system covers the entire roof
