  • Think it is a ATL?

I have this cam and the results are stunning, especially the night time results. I am also using its 24x7 recording feature by having it plugged in to a regular power using USB-C cable.

    • Great to hear. I ordered it right after posting it here. What did you pay for it? 24/7 option sounds really interesting. How much time can you store?

      • I have only 320GB HDD added to the HB3 so it’s not much. I have 24x7 only from 12am-6am but it still fills up quickly. I usually manually delete the 24x7 recording on a weekly basis.

        • I bought the retail one from JB Hifi on the last sale at $1800.

In the box there is the 4x cameras, the Homebase 3, a 1tb Toshiba HDD, 4x mounts and 2x Solar Panels (Each panel connects to 1 camera, for cameras where the solar panel doesn't get the best coverage, doubt it will let you do 24/7 with it though).

Haven't setup/installed the cameras yet, as I have been unwell since I got them.

          • @zander95: Yeah you can’t do 24x7 with solar panel attachment as it doesn’t give enough power.

Have bought the two pack of these cameras late last year and they are insanely good at night.
Also bought the silicon sleeves for them to give them a little bit of protection.

    • Didn't know if the silicon sleeve option. Any ideas of what I should pay or where to source them? Cheers.

Just on eBay, think it was $39 for a pack of two. Keeps the solar panel exposed but just covers up the plastic body of the camera. I like it because it helps blend the camera in more with my house.

        • Thank you 🙂

Curious to hear others experience. Have these cameras. The hardware is great. But the number of software bugs is insane. If you are looking to use RTSP eufy's implementation is poor.

    • Haven't had any issues with mine, been using for 9 months now. That said, I do just use a fairly default setup software wise.

  • S4 system is out in US.

S3 is much much better than S4- the S4 is a PTZ camera whereas S3 is single lens with digital zoom up to 8x)
S3 is a million times better than S300/S330 and solar charging is infinitely better
The S3's night vision using Daylike mode is superb

Don't believe it is actually physically released to the public yet, but it has been announced so is no longer a secret. "Apparently" the software may still be undergoing final finessing by a bunch of anonymous beta testers who shall continue to remain anonymous, are still under NDA, and would never post to Ozbargain about it … 😇

Though I "imagine" the S4 does have VERY good night vision, it is a different realm to the S3 Pro which is ridiculously clear and bright in the darkest conditions. The S3 is better at night if a fixed camera suits the mounting location, but "from the photos I have seen", if mounting options are limited or a wider area of coverage is required, the wide angle fixed and moveable camera feature of the S4 is very impressive. Really designed for two totally different use cases.

Was holding out for a heavily discounted S330 but tempted to get this instead!

    • S3 Pro much better than S330 Have both and the difference is chalk and cheese

  • 5 years later, still using basic Eufy 2C plus original homebase. Time for an upgrade, it seems!
    Lots of great reviews here

  • Im tossing between getting a wired dahua kit for $2100 installed by electrician which is their 8mp tioc advanced 2.0 includes 4 cameras and 4tb nvr fully installed or do i go wireless battery powered such as these? Is there any reason that wireless cameras is better in any way?

    • These are only some FOR reasons..I'm sure I could say just as many things for wired over these S3 Pros.

No electrician needed → simple DIY setup
Minimal drilling/cabling → quick, clean install
Portable → easy to move or reposition (especially moving house for example)
Works in rentals → no permanent changes required
Stays on in power outage → runs off battery
Flexible placement → can go where wiring isn’t practical
Guess based on what you said, maybe a small cost benefit seeing as these awesome cameras are around ~$700 in the pocket over your alternative (which I don't know, but I bet it's likely awesome)

Like I said though, wired also has advantages. But wireless stronger with the above.

      • I can see the benefit's of wireless.

Power outage though do they still record and send to the homebase? Just obviously cant view them via the app as the router would be down?

Also have some concerns about not capturing everything hence the 24/7 hardwired.

My guts saying go wired but my brain wont let me make the decision lol
In terms of quality and all they are quite similar to these although the wired records at 30fps as opposed to these are 15fps and also and i couldnt find much info on the MP on the eufy. The dahua is 8MP and eufy is 12mp binned to 4mp if anyone has any insight as to what that even means im all ears.

        • Megapixels/binning: 12 MP binned to 4 MP = the sensor groups pixels to act like bigger pixels, improving low-light and saving power, but the recorded resolution is ~4 MP (e.g., 1440p), not true 12 MP detail.

My take, if your priority is capture-everything + reliability, your gut is right, go wired. Wireless only wins on install flexibility and no cabling. Feels like the S3 Pro isn't for you. I feel you are stronger on the other. 🙂 Completely understandable. We're in a rental atm.

          • @seamonkey: So quality the dahua would be better ofcourse.
But im very impressed with the s3 pro
Now i just need to save on installation and diy the install lol
