How much does a mouthguard cost at your dentist? The price is good, but the software costs a few thousand plus the material is very expensive. It's about quality, if you want a mouthguard for 10 dollars, it's no problem to buy one at the chemist and have your teeth broken same day.

Website says adult mouthguard is $129 -$149 and looks pretty basic.

OP should add more detail.
It's not about the colors and how it looks, it's about the quality.
It's a pretty big difference, the old technique doesn't allow you to precisely design the thickness and size of the mouthguard. It's just a thermoform that gets cut. The thickness is a matter of luck, here you can accurately measure the thickness, try it on in a virtual articulator, check the occlusion and much more.
If I go to the dentist for a checkup and ask for a scan, I don't pay. I don't know about you.
