Lowest price I've seen in a while for the RingConn Gen 2 (note, this is not the cheaper Air version). RRP is $499. Harvey Norman has them for around $450.

Edit: These do not require a subscription. This is the main draw to this ring for me.

It is worth getting a sizing kit ($2 at Amazon) to try on a few different fingers prior to getting it. It is meant to be most accurate on the index finger, followed by middle, then the ring finger. It is still OK on the ring finger though, maybe a few percent off. I found it most comfortable on the ring finger, so I'm getting that.

These rings are not really good/aimed at tracking workouts. Sleep tracking, steps, some daily heart rate monitoring is what I am planning on using it for.

Advantages over the Air version:
* Charging case with inbuilt battery, which charges the ring 10+ times
* Made from titanium instead of stainless steel (~0.5g lighter)
* Air has 10 day battery vs 10-12 for the standard Gen 2
* Sleep apnea tracking

You can get $5 off if paying by Visa, or $10 off if paying via the app (targeted). YMMV

  • Hm, $2 sizing kit recommended

  • I was part of the original kickstarter and bought one for the missus, it failed recently wouldn't hold a charge, took a bit of back and forth to get a replacement. FWIW they put it down to the battery supplier for the first few batches.

    • The Gen 2 version is supposedly heavily updated, new sensors, bigger batteries, etc.

To clarify when I say original kickstarter I mean the kickstarter for the Gen2

        • I was also kickstarter for Gen 2. My battery is currently acting up, although not dead - still last 5+days.
I logged a feedback via the app and then been in emails with support from there. They have been incredibly responsive and comprehensive.
They requested several checks, I sent them notes taken of my battery level with times and dates, then also a video spinning the ring around whilst looking at the inside of the ring (I don't think it's swollen at all).
Straight away they've offered a replacement ring for free.
No word on root cause or suspicions though.

The latest update also just added automatic detection for a bunch of activities. Haven't determined how well that works yet.

  • Doesn't seem to be very accurate for both heart rate and sleep tracking

I guess it's better than nothing, and it's nice that there's no subscription required compared to something like the Oura

  • I ordered the Gen 1 a couple weeks ago. Limited sizes but I'm pretty happy with it for $159.

been running the gen1 for over a year now, battery life has gone from 6.5 days~ down to 5 and some change. Pretty happy with it overall tbh.

  • That's a pretty good deal!
Having the Oura and an EEG, I'm always tempted by these ring deals to compare the three on efficacy of sleep tracking… So not worth it, but that's not usually enough to stop me

  • Been using my ~$30 Colmi R09 Smart Ring from Aliexpress. Does what I need and saves my $$.
