If you’re searching for undersink water filter systems that actually make a difference in your kitchen water, you’ll love what the Waco Triple Ultra Filtration System brings to the table. This is about more than just fresh taste, it's about protection, purity, and everyday convenience, no matter where you call home.

How It Works: Three Layers of Pure Confidence
Stage 1: Sediment Pre-Filter: Your first defense against cloudy water. The 5-micron filter removes dust, rust, sludge, particles, and suspended sediment—so even your ice cubes look and taste clean.
Stage 2: Ultra Filtration Membrane: This 0.03-micron hollow fiber membrane is where the real magic happens, capturing bacteria, viruses, colloids, E-coli, giardia, and silt. That means ultra filtration you can trust for health and peace of mind.
Stage 3: Post Carbon Block: The real flavour fixer. This stage removes chlorine, bad tastes, odours, and organic compounds, taking on volatile chemicals and pesticides so your water tastes the way it should, fresh and pure.

No tin foil hat, my fridge has a 2-stage filter, it's 3 years old, and the filter is white.

They must have forgot to put that special browning agent in yours.

          • +1

@The Hobo: Must’ve realised that the water isn’t brown to start with.

    • Oh geez, you must've never heard of microscopic particles before. Wait until you find out what atoms are

Looks like yet another OzFreeAd, not really what a community website for sharing bargains is meant for.

Ah yes. The old post and run.

Or you could just look at the water quality testing that is done daily (Melbourne's in the link) and see what the water quality is like.

    • What about at the source?? If you are in an older suburb with old services.
Not too mention Asbestos pipework which is reaching end of life in most scenarios. There have been studies to prove Asbestos water pipework can lead to health issues.
Water quality tests will not account for that

      • Melbourne Water test at the source, the storage and service reservoirs and various points across the network and at the point they supply to the retail companies.
Then the retail companies test along their network, for example the first one i looked at https://www.yvw.com.au/about-us/reports/water-quality-report… they test at various customer taps across the network as well as other points.

All the retail companies have very detailed reports on water quality of the network.

The problem with asbestos pipes is not the drinking water, but them being disturbed when work is happening near them putting asbestos into the air and soil. Water quality tests won't account for that, but a water filter won't fix that issue either.

Mmm, operating a fair few different business names. Why so many?

Looks like proprietary filter cartridges = run away and buy something else.

Buy something that uses std 10 x 2.5 cartridges and you will have a world of choice for filters.

Not just a question of water quality but taste. My Melbourne water is filtered for drinking and tastes so different with no chlorine like smell. As for quality, if it was so good I would not need to change my filters on a 6 month rotation. Amazing the amount of "dirt" the sediment filter grabs.

Yes, it looks like an ad not a bargain. Mods please remove it..

    • Does "10x2.5" refer to the thread at the top? or 10cm = diameter of the body?

I'm finding the whole world of water filters a bit tough to sort through: I'd pefer an in-line undersink option, but there are so many options even when you try to narrow down to one category (e.g. no-name, semi-legitimate, and luxury). Do you have any tips? or brand suggestions?

Measurement is in inches and is standard cartridge size available in numerous brands, filter types and price ranges. Once you have the system hardware installed you can buy replacement cartridges from numerous vendors of your choice.

I run a twin 10 x 2.5 to the kitchen cold water tap and the same lines then passes through another twin 10 x 2.5 before entering my fridge water dispenser/ice maker. Overkill yes but the cost was modest and I installed myself.

These guys are an excellent starting point:

        • I use stored rainwater for everything except the kitchen. I use Clarence Water Filters as the supplier for my whole-of-house water filters, would recommend.

        • Much appreciated, thanks!

  • Similar setup, including a tap, for $135 ($125 eBay+). Just needs some tubing, JG (John Guest) fittings, pressure limiting valve and away you go…
Shield triple undersink filter system with tap $135

    • Would you vouch for "Shield" brand, or it's just an example you found quickly? I'm in the market but a bit lost with so many options, even just within the in-line undersink types.
