Super.com Travel Booking Any Good?

I have found a booking engine called super.com which seems to be much cheaper than other websites.

Has anyone used this site before to book a hotel?

For example, I was interested in booking a hotel in Canberra and super.com shows the hotel room as being $A178 whereas expedia.com shows the room as being $227.
booking.com has the similar price to expedia.com. I've used the same nights.

Searching shows the site super.com as a startup in San Francisco but does not seem to have a phone number though.

  • Looks like just another hotel aggregator.

I would be a little careful trusting the "comparisons" made on the site because it does not seem to not display sites that are cheaper than them (i.e. Agoda doesn't often appear in the comparison results) and in many cases the prices displayed from their competitor as a "comparison" are actually more than what you get when you click through their link to the competitor.

I plugged a few options into Google and was presented with cheaper options on most sites and even a cheaper option on their own site ($224 direct vs $196 via Google). If it's actually cheaper than other options I'd say go for it.

  • Calling the hotel directly and telling them the prices offered often gives you same or slightly cheaper booking directly.

often gives you same or slightly cheaper

and sometimes they put up the price advertised by the hotel aggregator….

How many times have you been successful in doing this?

Exactly. Every time I've tried this, they ask me to book through the deal instead as they can't match it. They've budgeted for this and it doesn't bother them as much as people think it does.

  • It’s super. Why would they lie?

I have used them back in 2023 though staying at the Intercontinental Lyon, France (which is a stunning hotel with storied history). I consider myself pretty savvy with hotel bookings as I stay upward of 100 nights per year and use a wide range of sites as well as chain programs for my bookings.

  • Always check their website from here.https://www.scamadviser.com/

  • Used this website for a booking recently, we got our room without issues. What I did was after booking, I called the accommodation the next day to confirm if they did get my reservation. Should be okay if you are sure you won't change or cancel.
