[PC, Steam] Dead or Alive 5 Last Round (Full Game) $17.98 (70% off) @ Steam

80

Best fighting game of all time. You can download the free version if you want to try out the combat first. Full Game includes most of the characters and the story mode (which is a hoot, I've played through it twice).

I've made a few mods here: https://www.deviantart.com/cascadehush

Does this game still come with the 'bounciness' adjustment setting?

im just here for the plot

    • Yes it does. There are 4 or 5 levels. I still think Natural looks the best but you have DOA and OMG if you need more physics than is natural.

    • Sorry, I don't do man chins and armpit hair.

  • "mods" lol

  • Doa 6 is also on sale. What are your thoughts…. If i don't own either of the two which would you recommend?

    • I prefer 5. Both have a core fighters version that is free. 6 adds some kind of special meter thing I didn't really vibe with. Also the graphics were very oversaturated and bright (as in white light). But more people play 6 than 5. 5 has tag team mode, which a lot of people like but I don't bother with; they took it out of 6.

I'm trying to be even handed. I think 5 was really the sweet spot and they tried to do something different with 6 I didn't like it otherwise I'd be making mods for it instead.

  • How does this compare to the Virtua Fighter series?

But then again, for every fighting game, I just button mash and hope for the best. I love me some Capcom button mashing.

      Virtua Fighter

Well for one, DOA series has about 69,420% more jiggle physics

    • Has some of the same characters actually. Virtua Fighter is a bit more grounded in real martial arts, I think. DOA is not as flashy as some, not by a long shot. You aren't throwing fireballs like in Street Fighter, but it does have some slight fanciful elements with some of the moves.

You can button mash your way through normal difficulty on both games.

DOA looks much better, at least the versions I have played. I know there is a 'new' Virtua Fighter game, I haven't seen that one. But the one before that looked significantly inferior in graphics to DOA which came out a few years earlier.

  • Venus Vacation is better

    • Isn't that region locked?
