Wish it was the other way around.

  • I have Amplify points and after they changed it from 2:1 to 3:1 for Kris flyer, it has become worthless.
Anyone have any idea how I can utilise the amplify points?

    • +3

Even worse, St.George changed the earn rate on Amplify cards. I cancelled and closed my card immediately after 20/08.

Best bet is wait until Velocity transfer bonus, then transfer from Velocity to KF. Instead of 1 KF per three points, you get 1.5/1.55*1.15 = 1.11 KF per three points. Not a lot, but better than direct transfer.

      • Better to wait for a 20% bonus to VFF

        • If it comes around. 15% is frequent enough.

          • @JohnHowardsEyebrows: Usually twice a year. Just did it last month

            • @daft009:

              Usually twice a year.

How do you get alerted to such deals? They don't seem to be listed on OzBargain that often.

              • +1

@Russ: I got an email from velocity and amex

                • @daft009: Thanks. I've only been a velocity member for about a month, so I haven't received such emails yet. Good to know I will.

  • +1

So I assume if you have Kris flyer pts that are about to expire, you can transfer to maintain some value…?

    • Exactly. I have 35K disappearing in a month so I will be doing this

    • +1

can also send them to Kris+ and use them for dining etc if that floats your boat more

  • Do VFF points expire?

    • +3

Not as long as you keep earning more VFF points.

I added my VFF membership to the 7-eleven app, so I earn points every time I buy petrol at 7-eleven. Or you can log into the VFF shop, and follow the link to earn when you buy something from eBay.

      • Ok thanks … so it's somewhat similar to QFF points.

      • You should get 711 bonus points on your first use at the pump.

  • just did my transfer only the normal points went into my velocity

  • -1

I have just done the transfer but no Bonus Points!!!!!!!!

  • Mod. Please double check with the poster as I received NO bonus points. Unless the bonus arrives later which needs to be stated in the Post.

  • Here's the Singapore Air link that shows the deal, appears to only be available to members of Singapore Air's PPS Club:

    https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/au/ppsclub-krisflyer/kf-m…

The "#Velocity" on the end brings up the pop-up. You can also get the pop-up by going to https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/au/ppsclub-krisflyer/kf-m… and then clicking on "Learn More" in the "Velocity" section.

According to Google, "The PPS Club is an exclusive, high-tier loyalty program by Singapore Airlines for its top customers who fly in Suites, First, or Business Class."

I found the link by searching on Google for the text of the deal in the screenshot given by OP.

      • Your URL has "ppsclub" in it, rather suggesting it is an exclusive offer to PPS Club.

And two people, above, did transfer points across, and only received the standard transfer rate. No bonus points.

        • +1

There's nothing in the terms and conditions that states one also has to be a PPS Club member in addition to KrisFlyer. Just be a KrisFlyer member and a Velocity member. The URL is probably just where they hold assets.

Maybe it's like the flybuys promo where you have to wait a few weeks to get the bonus points …

          • @kerfuffle: In the previous deal for KF to VFF transfers, people reported that the bonus points showed up immediately in their account.

            Not so for this deal.

            • +1

@Russ: And you can see in the URL for that one that it also has PPS club in it …

in the latest AFF podcast, the krisflyer guy they interviewed mentioned this deal was coming so i think its open to all

          • @daft009:

so i think its open to all

I'll play it cautiously, and wait for someone to report that they did receive the bonus points.

            • +1
              • @daft009: Can confirm, I managed to transfer my points from KrisFlyer to Velocity, and I received the 20% bonus points.

It wasn't clear sailing though, KrisFlyer initially told me the transfer system was unavailable, and to come back later. So I waited an hour and tried again.

The Krisflyer website didn't mention any bonus, and only showed the standard conversion rate. But then I logged into my Velocity account, and it showed two transactions today - the first transaction showed the points value that KrisFlyer said I would receive, and a second transaction showed the 20% bonus points.

                Thanks!

  • Cheers OP. Transfered and got bonus points straightway.
