This hugely popular keyboard has recently received some further iterations in the form of the f75 Max and the s75, both which have a screen that the f75 lacks.

However, if that doesn't matter to you this is still a super solid keyboard that's compatible with both Windows and Mac, has tri-mode connectivity (via usb c, wireless 2.4Ghz Dongle or Bluetooth).

It's perhaps most known for it's very creamy asmr-esque sound signature. Here is a comparison of the sound signatures of the 4 available switches:

I believe the reaper is the most popular choice, which seems to have the deepest thock.

    Quite regularly between $100-105.

You can find it on AliExpress pretty regularly between $50-80.

I’d argue the AK820 Pro is better bang for buck at $85 (usually) or a Chilkey ND75 for $129 (Umart)

    • True, most things are cheaper on AliExpress than Amazon… however I think the extra premium is sometimes worth it for the quick and free shipping (if you have Amazon Prime or the purchase is expensive enough, which in this case it is). Also, Amazon has a very good refund policy, and although I have never returned anything via AliExpress I'd imagine it'd be a pain with international shipping involved.

Fair. Totally preference (sound and feel) based but I think for $100 it’s not the best value.

You could get the aluminium version (AULA M75) for $100 which is arguably more premium along with double the battery life.
But I would strongly advise for people to spend the extra $20-30 on a ND75. Much more premium and customisable.

If you’re wanting to really save the money, get the AK820 Pro. Better Keycaps, better volume knob.

        • Have you seen the M75 with the metal case cheap anywhere?

          • +1

@Merlict: It’s $99 at the moment on Amazon

          • @Merlict: Wow, I didn't know there was an aluminum version of the f75 with virtually no drawbacks… Not sure why the RRP of the m75 is lower than the f75 but this is the link for anyone who is interested…

            https://www.amazon.com.au/EPOMAKER-M75-Mechanical-Swappable-…

If anyone does know if this aluminum version has drawbacks please do let me know, but if not I would say that the m75 is probably the better buy, purely due to the aluminum case; unless you bring your keyboard everywhere with you, since it's heavier…

But then again, if you bring your keyboard everywhere with you, you'd probably be better off with a low profile mechanical keyboard or something super light like the apple magic keyboard for mac or the satechi slim for mac/windows.

@Leenardos: I've used both and the M75 doesnt feature a volume knob (which I prefer).
It's much heavier, but feels way more solid overall. Switches feature some TTC Flaming Purple (In the blue version). Very smooth, very same same but different compared to the Reapers.

        • I have a Keychron K10 (bluetooth only) and isn't consistent at about 4 metres (computer is in the lounge so has line of sight, often doesn't register the first key press or will get stuck typing the same letter etc.)

Am considering getting a new keyboard specifically for the couch so I can game/type without getting frustrated. Was just wondering if you'd used the ND75 wirelessly and if your recommendations would change if it's going to be totally wireless (although I figure the 2.4ghz connection will make it much more reliable than bluetooth).

          • +2

@Quom: 2.4Ghz is much more reliable with a better polling rate. Unless you have multiple 2.4GHz receiver then they’ll play with each other.

When I’ve tried the ND75 it’s been fine wirelessly. No issues at all.

I’ve tried the following and all of them have been solid for USB 2.4GHz.

            Keychron Q1 Max
            Keychron V3 Max
            Lemokey P1 Pro
            Rainy75
            Crush80
            MonsGeek M1 V5
            Chilkey ND75
            AK820 Pro
            AULA F75
            AULA M75
            GMK67 V2

Ps I have an addiction to keyboards

  • Should I be looking at hall effect keyboard right now as a casual dota player?

…I've been looking at this keyboard for a while, thanks OP.

  • For the same price I just got this tri-mode 75% aluminium keyboard. Feels really premium and sounds awesome, really happy with it!

  • Any recommendations for a full-sized keyboard around this price or a little higher?

    • +1

The equivalent full sized keyboard to this is the F108 Pro or F99 Pro which are both about $20 more. There is also the Galaxy 100 for about $50 more if you are after an aluminium casing for that more premium feel.

    • +1

I bought the fullsize version from them the TH108.
Its great, super thocky and the bluetooth connection has three devices you can separately pair to.

75% wireless? what keys aren't wireless.

    • Haha I definitely could've worded the title a bit better, to clarify for anyone who's confused it's a keyboard with a 75% layout. It also can work without wires via either a Bluetooth connection or a 2.4ghz dongle. To my knowledge, a higher % means a bigger keyboard with more features
i.e. a 60% keyboard will be smaller than a 75% keyboard and have no functions keys (f1->f12), and a 100% keyboard will be bigger than the 75% keyboard, and have a dedicated numpad. 75% is quite popular because it's a nice balance between not taking up too much space on the desk, but still having all the important keys you need i.e. the function keys.

P.S. on a 60% keyboard, even though you don't have the function keys, you can still access the same functionality by pressing the fn key and the number you want (f11 is fn and -, f12 is fn and +). However, you do miss out on the tilde key, which has been merged with the esc key so you can't use the mac keyboard shortcut command + tilde, which cycles between different windows of the same app. That is very niche however, and my only gripe with 60% keyboards.

All good m8, just pulling your leg.

  • I got an Aula F99 Pro, and I love it.

I need a mechanical keyboard for days when I work in the office.

    I prefer a 75% to full-size layout.

Can anyone recommend a budget-friendly option?

    • I mean if you love the F99 then just buy the F75 to keep is consistent?

Otherwise I would rather steer people to save some $$ and get the $80ish AK820 Pro.
