For $25 Get $228 Worth of Windows Apps, Including Breevy And Teracopy

31

Software bundles provide a great way to save money on apps, but productivity-focused bundles for Windows are relatively rare. Right now, PCBundler is offering seven great Windows apps for only $US25.

This is what you get for your money:

Teracopy: Provides faster and smarter file copying.

Breevy: A great text expansion (typing shortcut) app for Windows.

Direct Folders: Quick access to your favourite files and folders.

CleanMyPC: Tidy up those excess files on your computer.

DVDRanger: Copy and convert DVD movies.

Pixo: Applies special effects to images.

Spyglass: Beautiful disk imaging so you can find out what’s eating up all the space on your hard drive.

This list includes some apps we really like, such as the text expansion app Breevy which normally costs $US35 ($10 more than the total cost of the bundle).
We also really like TeraCopy and Direct Folders for better file management and access.
The rest of the bundle is pretty good, too, and for $US25 you’re getting a great deal. Hit up PCBundler if you’re interested.

The bundle is available for a little less than two weeks.

Pass, I can achieve the same with freeware apps which are probably better.

I agree. Terracopy is good, but was only really needed because the standard xp tool is just so bad.

  • Only 7 OK apps, not a great deal, sorry…

    Teracopy is a free program.

    • Pro version isn't free and has additional features. For most users the freeware version is probably fine though.

for those with win7 and above learn some CLI and use robocopy (comes with the OS)

or you can google for the free GUIs that makes it easier.

why pay for a feature that already existed?

would linux be simpler to learn?
    better?
    more powerful?

    • +1

'more powerful' linux is not necessarily 'useful' in a user-oriented interface world.

use the right tool for the right job.

there is no such thing as a 'better' OS, technically speaking.
      (and i didn't neg you.)

You can get free alternatives to everything in this bundle:

Teracopy - Standard version is free. Most people wouldn't even use the Pro features.

    Breevy - http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2011/09/the-best-text-expansion…

Direct Folders - Standard version is free. Also, there are multiple ways of settings favourites built in to Windows so what use is this app?

CleanMyPC - I hate these types of apps, so I'm not going to mention any specific ones. There are definitely free alternatives though.

    DVDRanger - Handbrake.

Pixo - GIMP, Paint.NET, Pixlr, and more.

Spyglass - Folder Size (http://www.mindgems.com/products/Folder-Size/Folder-Size.htm…), which is also better than Spyglass IMHO.

Teracopy is the only good app imho.

Whats this about a pro version of teracopy? The website doesnt list differences other than one is "commercial use"

    • The biggest advantage of the pro version imo is that it allows you to remove files from the copy queue on the fly. Say you queue up 100 files to copy then realise that you don't want to copy 2 of them, the pro version allows you to just remove those 2 files without affecting the rest of the queue. (edit for spelling)
