Can You Get Hard copies of Racing Sim Games?

So picked up a G27 wheel from hard rubbish. Works well on PS2… But looking for something better.

Wouldn't mind trying Arsetto Corsa, GTR or Rally sim fans…

But…I don't have wifi. I just use my phone as a hotspot.

These games seem to be massive downloads (50gb it suggests ?)

I have a a portable Blu-ray drive. Can you get hard copies?

Or anyone willing to burn me one? RBR is a free download (I think). So no piracy issues. Guessing Arsetto will require registration after installing. So no issue there either.

Cheers

Don't worry about shipping, he'll send his courier to pick up the goods.

    Oh it gets much worse

    • Yeah, those are rookie numbers. FH4 & 5 100 and AMS2 are all over 100 and I only play them about once a month.

  • I just bought Victory Heat Rally. It's about 340MB. I don't know if it works with a wheel.

No routers in the hard rubbish?

Even if there is a hard copy available you will likely need to download a sizeable update to get up to the latest version anyway.

Ask a friend if you can put your computer at their house for a night while it downloads perferably someone with good speed and use a CAT cable

  • I've downloaded movies bigger than 50gb

  • Arsetto Corsa? Lol been spending too much time on the hub mate ;) great game though for G27. Also recommend if your budget can swing, buy a PS4 on marketplace for 100-150, then pick up some good sim games 10-15 from CEX, marketplace etc. Once you're done you can offload the lot, often at profit as a bundle.

  • I think the PS4 might be the only way.

Any ideas which driving game on PS4 sounds the best (engine sounds)…

    ACC?

    • Watch some gameplay clips on YouTube and judge for yourself imo

    • Just a heads up, the G27 won't work on a PS4 without additional hardware like a drivehub IIRC.

      • Urghhhhh…. naturally it's not supported on a ps4.. guessing there isn't a $10 adapter from AliExpress out there yet?

Guess I'll try rFactor 1.7gb on DVD (should be better than PS2 GT4… I think)…run off a potato.

Wonder if the Telstra payphones still have open wifi. Used to live across the road from one…. or might just need to sign up for wifi for a couple of months. Never needed more than a 3MB/S (20GB a month) phone hotspot till now…

Anyone know if there is a short term sign up option out there (no issue in sourcing my own router etc.

        • There's a few options but they'd be more than $10 unfortunately.

Drive hub and Ras1ution2 are around $100 I think and you might need a USB controller too.

There's gimx or something like that which requires a laptop or computer as well but is a bit more diy

          • @peetah: Any tips on where to find the latest updated / modded rfactor?

            Internet Archive the best?

          • @peetah: Just discovered the fitgirl repacks…
            Significant compression..
