Hi all
I am using Revolut as a metal card member I normally get 1% cashback on most card purchases. I've made 2 purchases with a merchant that appeared on their cashback/promo page listed at 3% but for some reason didn't receive any cashback from it (not even the usual 1%). I've contacted them to inquire about it and also raise awareness about the issue with their cashback system. Their response "unfortunately the merchant based on their business category is not eligible for a metal Cashback. Due to this, the Cashback was not triggered for this payment. Thank you for your understanding."
So I have some questions. What are my options to escalate this? Should I file a formal complaint or AFCA?
Have anyone have experienced filing a complaint with this company or have similar tracking issue with other institutions? I've read some comments about a possibility of account getting closed?
Cashback Not Tracked on Card Purchases

This is more like rewards points and credit cards but cashback instead of points. Unlike regular cashback offered by third party which can be declined to due various reasons (cookies, ad blockers, gc used and etc) this transaction showed up on the statement and is confirmed but just didn't credit any cashback.
Looking at the T&Cs (section 6): https://www.revolut.com/en-AU/legal/paid-plans/
- Cashback is 0.1% for purchases made in Australia
- Cashback is 1% for purchases made outside Australia
- Certain transactions are excluded from the Metal Cashback, including transactions with merchants who provide financial services, such as quasi-cash, e-wallets, securities trading, gambling and other services relating to accessing liquid financial assets.
- "When Metal users make certain purchases with their Metal Card, we will credit your account": does not specify what "certain" is.
- Maximum cashback for each month is A$24.99
Their response is that the merchant business category is not eligible is somewhat invalid as this particular merchant is listed as part of their cashback/promo at even a higher rate.
Maximum cashback for each month is A$24.99
LOL what? why even bother then
What are my options to escalate this?

ADACBHS
At what point can this sort of trash be banned from being brought up as a topic?
If this doesn't apply to you move on why waste your time and energy? If this topic has been covered (which I did try to find before posting but might of missed) you can always post a link.
normally im a "ADACBHS" but this one is a formal complaint for me.
Reminds me of the many times my HSBC cashback never tracked and their chat support checked and each time confirmed that it was an error at their end and they would escalate it to someone to add it manually - which never happened and when chasing the next month each time they would just say that "the department had not replied so they would escalate it again". Never got any of them fixed. Learnt if it doesn't track then you just don't get it. Either stop using them and vote with your feet or accept it.
Bro.. Just close your account and move on. People been advising users here not to factor cashback when buying something as this is hit or miss.
