Ad banner covering up New Deals section on homepage

For the past couple of days I have noticed that an ad banner is overlaid over the new deals section on the right.
Makes it really hard to read.. Is this a bug?

I am on Win7, Firefox and a 30" screen if that matters?

I would upload a screen shot, but I can't figure out how..

  • Can you upload a screenshot here?.

  • +1

Just get a Adblock for Firefox

to take a screenshot; just press on the Keyboard, CTRL+Print Screen
The Print Screen button should be between the alphabets and the keypad; usually north of the arrow keys

    • You can also turn off advertisements in My Account - Edit.

      • I never knew you could do that….

It's so sly just like those countries with 'opt-out' organ donations and not 'opt-in' like us.

        • It's been a feature since 2007.

I was actually thinking of doing a monthly/weekly/whenever OzBargain 101 to go along with our updates.

        • I think that would be a great idea. Don't know how scotty would feel receiving less ad rev from people opting out of ads.

        • That just means I need to spend more time checking out the bargains to keep my expense low…

  • So that's on the Home Page? Yes it would be good if you can post a screenshot. Most our banner are from Google and I don't think they'll have something that goes outside their boundary.

  • Below is a screengrab of what I am getting..

    See the right hand side?..

    • It looks like you have spyware on your computer. For example, the deal I posted earlier today has the word freebies linking to somewhere in your screenshot. There is no link for that word in the original deal. Same thing for some of the other deals like the word begin in the Harvey Norman headphone deal.

May be a good idea to get Spybot or Adaware and give your system a clean.

      • Hmmmm… that's not good…

I am running Avast antivirus thinking that was keeping me protected..

Oh well yet another thing to download and have running in the background..

Thanks I will let you know how I go.
