  • Which one is better as PC monitor?

    • This one is perfect. Difference between C3/4/5 is the year of release. It might be difficult to find C4 now because they have been superseded by the 2025 C5. This is a decent price, C4 only went as low as $1100ish when it was on clearance

      • Interesting. Any reason I should choose the C5 over a Dell U4323QE?

          144hz vs 60hz

          OLED vs IPS

        • Depends on your use case.

The Dell has hub features, less glare and no risk of burn in.

I'd still get the LG though.

          Use case.

          Like others have said:
          - LG supports 144hz vs Dell's 60hz
          - LG is OLED, Dell is LCD (UPS)
          - LG is a TV, Dell is a monitor (with hub)*

          • That last point is important. While you can get LG companion software (community made) to bridge the gap a bit, the LG is not a monitor. It only has HDMI inputs, no internal hub, and doesn't auto turn on or auto standby like the Dell does. Text also isn't as nice as an LCD.

I have the LG C4 as my monitor, so it isn't in any way a dealbreaker not to have the same features as a monitor, but it is definitely different.

I have both a MacBook and a Windows desktop plugged in. It can auto switch between them with the appropriate software, but isn't as convenient as a monitor to the point that I just have the remote sitting by me. Software was just too dicky, so I ended up removing it.

Also starts up slower than a monitor does. I have a dual monitor setup with a Dell monitor in portrait mode for spreadsheets or pdfs. It powers on a good 3-4 seconds before the LG.

And yes, as Ryanek eludes to, there is a risk of burn in with the LG (being that it is OLED). Though it is overblown.

          In the end:
          Gaming go LG
          Productivity go Dell

          • @Morien: Thanks for that. Like you I also use both a Windows for work, and Mac for personal. I am more productivity > gaming.

            • @t25: Yep. I am the same, but I was happy enough with the gains for gaming over the drawbacks for productivity. Guess it comes down to your own tolerance.

  • I use the C4 as a PC monitor and it's amazing.

Mainly used for gaming and media. Such a leap from my previous 32" 4k 144hz IPS

    • I have the 42 c2 and find it a bigger and thought 32 would have been a better choice, especially IPS with no burn-in worry.

This model is only $1296 on LG Education Hub for a 2 day flash sale deal, free delivery AU wide, seems like some Korean thanksgiving sale. The 55 inch is almost 1/2 price

  • Does anyone know how does this compare to the Samsung S90F 42 inch? Both are WOLED I believe.

  • hey guys, has anyone from Victoria bought from Appliance Central? this my first time buying sth expensive here, and this seems like a very good deal compared to the other stores like harvey, jbl, goodguys, which all basically have the same price at 1695 even the other smaller stores have the c5 listed at 1.5k plus and here they only list it for 1.46k is this like a demo verision or somthing?

    • it's fine. was $1296 a week ago.

      • ask jbhifi to pricematch via chat if you want . I had done that.
