Hey everyone, I’m looking for suggestions on a good gaming laptop under $1800. Bonus points if the website offers a student discount!
I’ll mainly be playing AAA games, so I’m looking for something with an Nvidia RTX GPU (at least 8GB VRAM). Ideally, I’d like 32GB of RAM, but I’m open to a lower amount if it’s upgradeable. Weight isn’t a concern for me.
Also, could you guys let me know if this is a good deal?

When are you looking to buy?
If it's not urgent then create a subscription to the laptop category and see what's posted here. There should be some sales on the 40xx GPU series laptops as the 50xx series becomes more readily available.
If you need to buy now then something like this Gigabyte A16 for $1710 isn't too bad

The RTX 5000 lineup has started to creep into the Aus market, though they're still super expensive (at-least for the most part; see here)
If you can wait a bit, I'd suggest doing so until another deal like that pops up
For $1,800, you can hope to expect at-least a RTX 5070 given that's the price point the 4070 laptops sat at until the release of RTX 5000.
Wouldn't recommend settling for a RTX 4060 unless its ~$1K and not with a super-gimped TDP
