if i didnt prefer earbuds (airpod pros) over ear phones (xm5) i would be using my xm5s for calls lol
Not my experience. Call quality is excellent. Cuts out all wind noise. Too bad the hinges break if you look at them wrong. Check the Reddit for more info. Avoid these.
I have an older XM3 model and they were terrible. Mostly because they pick up a lot of background noise.
Looking at feedback here seems to be they have improved this?
The AKG deal @ JB Hifi if it's still on is wayyy better. Don't regret that purchase at all.

Can you review the AKG N9 hybrid, is it a good set of headphones comparing to xm4?
With JB Hi-Fi deals, it's definitely a steal. I would say it is a hidden gem. Sound-wise, they're not that off, they're fun cans.
I have the XM4s and the AKG N9 Hybrids.
I would say the sound quality and comfort is about on par with the Sonys.
For noise-cancelling specifically, they're slightly weaker than the Sonys.
I have used both extensivesly now, but what I really love about the AKGs is if/when I need to go on a work-trip. They're the only set of cans that I bring with me now, and the call quality on these blow the Sonys out the water. As a gamer, I'd also just take this instead of having two headphones like I used to if I wanted to game while away from home.
The only potential "downside" of the AKGs is that even on Aliexpress/Temu/Official AKG sites, replacement ear pads seem to be extremely hard to find, the only place I could find them so far is from the AKG website in Japan. Obviously not a problem right now, but something to note.

Look at the camel link under your post. These go on sale pretty regularly. Also - refurbs go on sale for less, I've never had any issues with those.
Putrid, xm4 headbands are much more comfortable
FYI not the cheapest but you can get XM4 at costco for $308.

XM5 Frequent hinge issues. Don't really recommend.
XM6 Also has similar hinge issues, still breaking.
