Suggestions for Ping Pong / Table Tennis Table

In the market for Ping Pong / Table tennis table.

Thinking of getting [this one])https://www.k-sports.com/xu-shao-fa-19mm-championship-table-tennis-ping-pon), anyone have experience with these guys or any other suggestions around budget of $500 max.

I got a table from marketplace 6 months ago. Spent $250 on it including air tasker delivery. it didn't last long. Board warped. I couldn't find any decent boards now around my area as well. Unlike gym equipment or other marketplace regular items, these tables from marketplace are having significant quality issues.

Thinking of getting a new item this time as kids showing interest in spending time on it.

Spent $250 on it including air tasker delivery.

About $200 too much. I've seen many for free.

    Board warped

Is it stored in an area exposed to moisture/condensation?

    • Board warped may be due to moisture. but that was not me. previous owner.

for anything less than 150/200 not much quality, some are much worse like collecting dump.

      will keep an eye though.

I play and yes recommend a table that folds this way. For budget tables, just have to watch for moisture. You can get many years of fun playing on it. If you are frequently playing, get a robot.

    • what robot ?

  • I bought this exact model at least 5 years ago and no issues.

Has held up really well through pretty heavy use and storage in my garage, although was a bit fiddly to assemble/build initially.

The included bat and balls are rubbish. The net is decent but I did eventually upgrade it a year or so ago.

I wouldn't buy a table with a top less than 19mm thick and it is really important to avoid moisture to prevent warping.

  • Thank you.

  • Pro tables are 25mm.

Since you had ping pong in your post, anything less is fine.

    • Haha. Got it. I am not a pro. 19mm is fine for me.

I've owned the same name 25mm table (competition requirements) for nearly 2 decades. Who knows if it's even from the same factory now or not, but it's still fine. Bought new.

I purchased a Double Happiness 16MM Table Tennis Table about 3 years ago.

Quality seems to be good but it is left indoors.

    We aren't serious players.

  • You can get a cheap outdoor table for around $500 which is a bit more versatile
