Is $900 The Norm for Qantas Perth to Sydney

Hi,

I have a offer to upgrade my Amex to Qantas American Express Ultimate Card for 50k points.

I had the ultimate card before and $450 was enough to cover the majority of a Perth to Melbourne or Sydney return fare but now I can't find anything cheaper than $900 on either the Amex travel page or the Qantas page itself for that matter.

Is this just how much domestic flights cost now or am I likely to see something closer to $600 over the next 6 months?

Thanks!

Check Qantas flights for your chosen dates. It should have the price history and tell you whether it's below average, average, or above. Compare it to your quote.

  • the norm

    NO

  • probs cheaper to go via Bali on Jetstar (when on sale)

    • sad but true. or SG or KL otherwise

  • FIFO mining workers frequently travel this route to reach mining towns, which could influence the price.

  • amex doesn't surface the cheaper red sale fares in the travel portal iirc, that's why you aren't seeing the cheapest options. qantas also wont want to price cheaper than Jetstar.

  • wait for elon's hyperloop

just goto japan or america or europe
