All time low on this compact super zoom. Won't be the top pick if you're chasing absolute image fidelity and fast apertures but otherwise nothing else like this in the market.

This price might be an all time low as an Ozbargain post, but it is not the all time low price - I've seen it cheaper in November 2024: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15955575/redir

I didn't recognise it as a great deal at the time (hence I only mentioned it in a comment rather then posting it as a deal) and have regretted it since. My thinking at the time was that I have the 20-60 kit lens so the 70-300 was the more appropriate lens to round it out…

The 28-200 would make a great travel lens, which is something that I have now come to appreciate, as my 70-300 hasn't been used as much as I had anticipated due to the hassle of needing to carry the extra lens and the annoyance of needing to change the lens just to capture a particular moment…

    • wow. that's a great price indeed.

I can relate to your last paragraph very much which is why I have ordered this 28-200 compact. I am just worried that I will run into the aperture and IQ limits of this lens. Can't have everything I guess.

Lumix is running a campaign "Lens Lover" sale. I've seen advertisements for it, digidirect seem to be the only one thats moved so far.
This lens is still overpriced IMO - It's been on my bucket list for 12 months, I think if it was ~$900 it would get more favourable reviews.

24-105 and 70-300 have nice discounts.

shouldn't have mentioned the 70-300, I'm itching now..

  • That's a great price for 28-200mm. I have kept the kit lens still with my S5iix. I mostly use the camera for videos so my go to lenses on gimbal are sigma 24mm 1.4 DG hsm and TTArtisan 75mm f2 and some times I use the 20-60mm kit lens.

Anyone here used any MEKE AF 35mm f2 lens ?

The newly released 24-60mm f2.8 is also at an all time low, however it's on backorder at the moment.
