Just saw on Reddit that modern tvs with Android smarts no longer support recording of FTA to USB.
Not just Sony, it says all TVs with Android 11 or above ..

• Yes, there is truth to the Reddit claim for many TVs — particularly Sony models in Australia & NZ (and likely similar for other brands/regions) have dropped or disabled USB HDD recording for FTA starting with some newer models.
• But No, it’s not correct to say all Android TVs with Android 11+ can’t record to USB. Some models still can, especially older ones, or ones where the manufacturer maintains the feature.

Get the TCL MiniLEDs instead. I was looking at these in the 98" range and they look rubbish. Got the TCL C8K for cheaper and it looks way better.
