This for hitting people? Why is it called impact lol

The "Impact" name is basically marketing shorthand for the impact-bonded base construction. As opposed to tri ply "all clad" construction which is better and costlier.

      • They have so many different collections on there website, urban, axis, sax, sts… which one is supposed to be the best?

  • Same price in their eBay shop delivered

    • It's showing $7 delivery. Not bad, that's below actual cost.

sorry, it was free due to my eBay plus

What sets Scanpan Impact apart from the rest is its thick, impact-bonded aluminium base.

What a bald-faced lie! That is a bog-standard way to make tham, as seen in K-mart or a $19 Ikea pan.

    • Yes it is entry-level stainless steel construction. Anyway, my 26cm Scanpan Impact is durable and has not warped.

Can confirm, the cheapo ikea pan is just as good if not better imo. I bought the 24cm SP on sale for $39 from Amazon and sold it on Facebook marketplace after using it once. It just didn't impress me at all and took forever to heat up compared to my ikea pan and it even took longer than my thick and heavy debayeur carbon steel pan too. Seemed to stain easy too and I only tested cooking eggs on it once using the leidenfrost effect and ghee. The eggs still stuck to the pan slightly. I can get my ikea and carbon steel pan at almost perfect non-stick temperatures with ease. I mostly use my CS pan but I was curious if this would outperform the ikea pan and possibly my CS pan and it didn't even come close for me.

Taking long to heat up is not necessarily a bad thing though. It indicates higher thermal capacity so when you do put food in it, the temperature tends to not drop as fast either

Had my 30cm Scanpan for 10 years now and It's indestructible, will easily outlast me and I use it at least once a week.

  • Sold out overnight, nice!
    The 28cm remains available
