25% Bonus Qantas Points with Purchase of 15,000-75,000 Top up Points; 45% Bonus with 80,000-150,000 Top up Points @ Qantas

120

Not as good as previous top-up deals they have run in the past, but Qantas are running another points Top-Up promo until 1 October:

"Get 20% more Qantas Points when you top-up with 15,000 - 75,000 points
Get 45% more Qantas Points when you top-up with 80,000 - 150,000 points"

Purchasing points is usually poor value and really should only be done if you need a few additional points for a classic rewards flight.
Sometimes you'll get a better points per dollar ratio by purchasing wine through Qantas wines

Note that the Top-up points landing page does not specify this deal, you need to log in and the next page will show the offer.

It’s only good if Qantas gives you 120% to 150% bonus.

80K points with 45% bonus gives you a total of 116K points. Price is $2192 which works out to 1.88cents per point.

Not cheap but better than the current Wine Deals according to Flight Formula: https://www.flightformula.com/tools/qfwine

The 20% extra points options work out to around 2.3cents per point. No value there.

But you are missing out on some half decent wine that comes with those points.

Cheapest wine atm is1.97c without any PC or PC+ discounts.

  • Whats the best top up points bonus's of the past? Looks like 50% bonus?
The Velocity points sale are better as they have been around 1.4c

    • From what I have seen, 50% is the best but according to this article there has been a 60% promo in 2022.

  • I could sell my points for much lower rate than this rate

    • +3

You could but then whoever buys it from you will have their account cancelled and points confiscated.

I lost my velocity account 4 years ago due to this. Sold some points to a guy who transacted a lot. He/she got pingged, so did I. Never again :(

  • Dont be suprised if they leak your credit card details 😂

  • 1.88c inc GST is actually quite good for travel redemptions.

    • Probably slightly less than 1.88c when you factor in points earned by the credit card and interest free period, instead of paying cash for 1.4c per point off the classifieds.

    • The catch is there are basically no seats to redeem them on that get that value in return. House always wins.

      • -1

There are plenty of seats. Just rarely from/to Australia. But if you try Asia to somewhere, the redemptions really open up.

I have seen this game before. Qantas "give" you bonus points one day then quietly devalue them the next.

    • +3

      Don't you mean "enhancement".

    • Tis but a 20% tip! Then another!
