Hi, got a quote on AC and wouldn't mind a sanity check. 3.5kw Daikan system for ~2.3k + gst installed. Not a strict back to back but close. No electrical upgrade needed. My research sees cost of system around 1.2k so about 1100 plus gst for install.
Liked the tradie, so don't mind paying small premium just want to make sure not a complete ride. My googling seems to suggest around 700-1500 thrown out over the last few years for install which would make this seem fine.

I was gonna get another quote, but ultimately I'm OK with the rate, and if it's in the ballpark thought the guy was good and happy to give the work and get it all done sooner rather than later.
Rather than save a hundred or so but have to organise someone to be around to show another tradie to site and tire kick.

I've see installation quoted at a variety of rates. Most installers don't list it on their website so it can be hard to compare

I paid $880 to a local installer for a 7KW installed before winter this year and I supplied the unit. Most quotes were around $1000.
I used Bunnings as it was pretty easy to organise + they had a mitsubishi unit on sale that I wanted. Likewise the quote was cheaper than most places who just seemed to be a grand or similar.
Anything that's a two person job that takes more than a couple of hours is always a $1k job, for pretty much anything these days.

Yeah basically my thinking. If I get another quote, means I have to stay at home an afternoon, deal with another tradie and postpone the whole process.
You don't get more than one quote? Turn in your ozb licence.
The quotes I got for a split head 5.2kW system (3kW + 2.5kW) was about 5.6k + gst. So yours sounds okay.
