[PS5] Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition $49.97 @ PlayStation Store

260

Lowest I've seen it discounted on PS5 version yet, since it's only digital on PS5 (no disc version). Not sure if I'll pull the trigger or keep waiting.

Edit to add thanks to @Smigit in the comments:
Premium edition - $74.97
Deluxe edition - $90.96

Love Forza Horizon 3 (Australia) to bits

I’d probably wait until this drops further. Pity there isn’t a physical copy at all

    • This is ATL for Xbox and PC too.

i still find it funny now that microsoft games are on PlayStation :D the xbox fanboys said it would never happen. pretty much ps5 is the best console it has VR and it has the xbox games that fanboys would defend so there is pretty much no reason to get a xbox any more lol.

      • I remember ps fanboys coveting their "exclusives" too. Now they are on PC, the superior gaming and VR platform.

Instead of needing to get validation on your stuff by saying your thing is better than the other thing, would be better to accept some things are better on one platform, and others on the other.

But hey, if you want to be in the mindset of a 13-year old forever then keep those flame wars going!

          • @DingoBilly: I dont need validation as I have an informed knowledge as an owner of all those platforms, basically stating facts, common knowledge even.

      • And I dare say their exclusives are better.

I have both, but Xbox needs to be much cheaper than a PS5 if they really want people to buy their console. They're $50 more than a PS5 now.

  • No point having a disk version of an online only game that requires you to have a Playstation subscription to play. Unless you like collecting drink costers. My drink coster collection includes Overwatch, Anthem and Exoprimal. It used to include Helldivers 2 but I sold it for more than I paid for it.

    • Don’t believe you need to be online to play this one. The PS listing says online is optional and a quick google seems to confirm it.

For what it’s worth the Premium Edition shows up as $74.97, which is actually cheaper than the lower tier Deluxe edition which is $90.96. Premium with the DLC might be worth considering.

Thanks I've added those prices in the post now too

    • Thanks pulled the trigger on the premium

    • Purchased, thanks

  • When did this happen?

I would have thought it undermines gamepass

    • MS started putting games on Sony consoles 1-2 years ago and it seems now that most of their titles are going there.

MS is struggling to sell Xbox hardware so they’re in turn struggling to grow GamePass. This way MS is making money off the Sony Platform that they otherwise are missing out on. Lots of rumours suggesting that future Xbox will be closer to PCs and are likely to have third parties developing hardware, rather than a closed ecosystem they’ve had to date. The Asus+Xbox handheld collaborations probably the first of many such devices.

Basically as a buyer today you can get an Xbox if you want GamePass, otherwise you may as well get a PS as you get access to MS releases still along with the rest of the Sony lineup.

Gamepass revenue is growing at least 10% year on year….hardly struggling. They dont need to sell any consoles to achieve this as gamepass is available on any android device, TV's even Amazon fire sticks.

        • It's the price that stings. That's what's keeping me from getting Game Pass Ultimate over PS Plus Extra.

          $22.95 vs. $14.99 monthly.

To each his own, I guess. I play my Switch on the go and Xbox, PS5, PC at home.

@BadGiraffe: You need to compare the PS deluxe price vs ultimate to be fair, as far as content goes gamepass wins hands down, you can also stream gamepass games to a phone or tv where PS doesnt offer that yet here.

            • @Spendmore: PS Plus Premium is $17.99 a month ☹️

Still cheaper, but yes, it doesn't give you that "everything is an Xbox" thing. Amazing effort from Microsoft, but it feels like they're going to drop out of the console business.

              • @BadGiraffe: I think more of a merge with PC's which will be a great thing. Handheld and SFF pc would be awesome.

                • @Spendmore: Oh… I was looking at the US site. Au site says Premium is $23.95 a month! My bad! So it's $1 more. But they do have a 12 month subscription which will cost less overall.

Stupid Google. Sending me to the wrong site.

        • GamePass will miss its 2030 target. I stopped my PS Plus subscription for a while now. I will most likely stop my GamePass Ultimate subscription next year (currently still have a few months left from that great XBox Turkey deal way back).

Microsoft is relying on GamePass PC for growth. Call of duty series is also masking the issue somewhat. The gaming industry is struggling. Microsoft had to lay off a lot of game devs. Sony and Microsoft's frienemy relationship is getting interesting. Console gaming is struggling so both Sony and Microsoft are looking at ways to get new revenue streams.

This and Halo were the only reasons I had Xbox.

  • It's not worth buying this game now they are just recycling content till Horizon 6 comes out.
