Do you have a suggestion for a better laptop for $960?
The (very real, totally obtainable) 4060 laptop for $800 of course
Is the 4060 in the room with us now Marshmallow?
Why yes, it is.
I've learned that he will NEVER post a better deal than the one he trash talks. Maybe we should find a deal for a therapist for him.
NEVER post a better deal
Reported for misleading. I don't post deals period.
@marshmall0w2: "mods, help me, this guy said I never post deals! He is wrong because I never post deals!"
RTX 4060 for $960 and even lower. I personally wouldn't buy even an RTX 4060 for $960 right now, and I would never recommend anyone to get an RTX 4050 laptop for $960 right now.
are you going for a new record of downvotes? lol
Maybe. I stand by my word. $960 for an RTX 4050 is a crap deal. RTX 2050 4GB for $720 even bigger crap.
Except a 24GB 5070 sold for less than $1835.
It’s a good deal, I’d love to grab one, if only my kid weren’t so addicted to Roblox! And Roblox runs just fine on an i5 11th gen… damn.
Can these gaming laptops be used for regular non gaming purpose? I understand it can be but I am not into gaming so just want to know if there are any limitations or downsides of buying these for regular purposes.
They are just more bulky and look less sleek compared to business laptops. Otherwise, they should do everything a business laptopz would
Thanks
They're really good if you don't need to carry it around much. I have mine on my desk basically 24/7 unless I'm going to see family for a week somewhere.
Biggest downside is weight and battery life. You would get 3-4x the battery life with a non gaming laptop. If you’re only going to be using it for things besides gaming I definitely wouldn’t recommend one, but besides that it will run exactly the same.
You’re also paying more to have a gpu.
I would suggest against it for regular purposes. Gaming laptops tend to be quite loud, heavy and bulky. And Media consumption isn't always the greatest on them, while they may have high refresh rates, they often skimp on colour accuracy, so watching Netflix and the like will be less enjoyable. Also battery life, pardon my language, is quite shit on gaming laptops. You're looking at a maximum of 6 hours unplugged in most cases. Unless you need the GPU compute power for something, you would be better off getting a thin and light in my opinion
Their heavy and shorter battery life - if you just like do casual computing/browsing/media consumption consider the thin and light types with really good battery life (Yoga/XPS/Mx series Macbooks).
They are noisier, bulkier, heavier, have less battery life and put out more heat.
Will match my wife then
I see Victus, I upvote. Always liked these laptops ever since my cousin purchased one.
Happy with 16" Victus i got a couple years ago still runs well
4050 is better than 2060?

thanks
Thanks mate
The code is still valid because I can't enter it
Yes, the code is still valid…
Where you put the code ? :D
Where do you put the code ?
USB c charging?
Check the store page for it:
https://www.hp.com/au-en/shop/victus-gaming-laptop-15-fa2723…
The charger it comes with is a 120W HP barrel jack one, they list HP USB-C 65W Laptop Charger as a recommended accessory for it so I imagine you could use USB-C for half speed charge rate (official specs on that page say it supports fast charging)
Do you think this might be able to run GTA 6? Or I would be pushing it?
No, because GTA6 has not been announced for PC yet.
Will it come to PC eventually? Yes.
When? I don't know.
Should you buy a laptop now in anticipation of GTA6? No.
The 4050 mobile should be similar to the 3050 desktop, the 6GB will be somewhat tight but without knowing the recomended specs I personally would expect it to run 1080p/low-medium.
Wait till PC version is announced and the specs, then watch the benchmarks with diff laptops and make a decision :)
Would be waiting at least 2-3 years imo
