Nah, just an ebay sale. It's normal to have a divergence in pricing across selling platforms.
Seems like a relic from long ago!
Used better cheaper point & shoot cameras 10 years ago^ Occasionally taken to scenic locations now.
Easier to use mobile for most use.eBay lists as "Type: Spy Camera"!!
16MP point and shoot
4X Optical Zoom
2.7" (6.8cm) LCD Screen
1080 Full HD Video
2.7cm Wide-Angle Lens
Powered by 2 AA Batteries"Small and easy to use, this camera is an ideal choice for on-the-go shooting. It is conveniently powered by two AA batteries and features a 2.7" LCD screen, a 4x optical zoom, one-touch full HD video, red-eye removal, face detection, and more."
^2015 got a Samsung WB350F P&S, 21x zoom, built-in Image Stabilization, rechargeable, 16MP, with wireless - giving access through app to image view, controls, etc on mobile. Still works like new.
Was on clearance then for $49!!
JB gave me it free (to compensate failed order)😄Wow I haven't seen a Kodak in the wild in so long
Kodak is basically a 'zombie brand' now, just slapping their logo on cheap junk.
Just like Blaupunkt.
Just wondering, what use case is this digital camera for that a flagship phone cannot deliver? Genuine question 🙏
IF this actually has image quality on par with a $2k ‘flagship’ then you can still come out well ahead with a midrange cheap phone and this.
Sadly none… even with optical zoom. Kodak invented digital tech which eventually killed them. Different story with full frame DSLR camera, I have had iPhone users tell me they take as good a pic as my DSLR… umm, no.
I would agree with you, mobile phone camera is nowhere near a proper full frame DSLR, not anywhere close
I am an amateur but own (and spent too much) on lenses which all sit in a box for 8 years now, no chance I am bringing DSLR and kids out together
None. Doesn't even need to be a "flagship". I bought a Canon P+S for a holiday in 2019 and the pictures were worse than the iPhone 8 I had at the time.
If you are taking it to an environment where a costly phone could get damaged or stolen?
If you want to give a 9yro a camera?
If you want to take lots of pics without running down your phone battery?I think nearly everyone with a flagship phone will probably choose that for pics, but this isn't for everyone.
People still buy them???
Question shows you're old as, like me. The kids love old point and shoot camera, they like the fact the image quality is like someone smeared mud all over the lens, they can't achieve these looks without filters on phones. The worst quality the image the more the love it, it's hip and cool.
They say the older ccd sensors look more attractive, but yeah.
As I get older, I try and tell my wife the same thing.
I just asked my youngest kid. He was not aware that old point-and-shoot cameras were trendy. However, he pointed out that three question marks in my post reveal my age very well. :)
You should check out digital stores in Japan lol. Plenty of retro gadgets still
