75-inch Hisense U8QAU 4K ULED Mini LED Smart TV $2487 + Delivery ($0 to Local Areas/ C&C/ in-Store) @ Harvey Norman

50

I have been tracking the price of this TV for a while, usually sits at around $3600 and often goes on sale for $2997-$3400.

$2487 + Free Delivery seems like an ATL and good price for a higher end Hisense.

This is only the second time I have seen it at this price and last time you still had to pay for delivery.

No idea when the deal ends but it is a Series 8 TV, I think a lot of people compare this to a TCL C8K but because the Hisense model is Australia specific I can’t find much information or reviews on them, the ones I have found are pretty positive though.

Note this does have the VIDAA OS but I personally always use a Google TV or Shield to run my apps so this is not a big issue for me.

My main reason for opting for this TV is the inbuilt speakers are much better than your average TV (still not great compared to any sound bar) but in my use case I have no room for a sound bar so I want the best TV speakers possible.

Seems like a great deal to me but anyone with more knowledge on the TV please post your thoughts (literally no deals posted on this TV previously and 1 deal on the 85” model with almost no comments).

  • is there much difference with this 100inch for $3,500
    Hisense 100" Q7QAU 4K QLED Smart TV 2025

    • With Hisense, their Q series TVs are generally the more budget type of panels whereas the U series are more premium. Possibly even the difference between QLED and Mini-LED but it's been a couple generations since I looked too closely.

    • I purchased one, it's a really bad. Im returning it. I would avoid the 100" U7QAU at all costs if you care about picture quality and gaming. Many other cheaper TVs at the same size for same performance.

I actually have a TCL 98" C8K review unit in my studio at the moment - BLOWS this TV away. I'll be putting up a side by side review on my YouTube channel soon.

      • Can you please clarify when you say “the C8K blows this TV away” by “this” you mean the U7QAU? Not the TV in this deal U8QAU?

        • Yes the C8K is miles in front of the U7Q.
I haven’t had my hands on the U8Q yet. That video is coming.

          I just wish the C8K was 100”.

Sound on the C8K is very good for TV speakers. Essentially, it’s the best LCD TV I have personally used.

I haven’t looked at this one in detail but I would have thought the TCL C8K was a touch better and available around $2.1k.

    • Touch better in what way (besides OS)?

And any idea on the internal speaker performance of the TCL C8K?

My money would be on the C8K without a doubt, particularly for less money
      $2119 @ AC: https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/75c8k-tcl-75-inch-premiu…

      • Thanks, I’ll look into it a little more, if the sound is comparable and the picture is better, this also seems thinner then it might be the way to go.

I just wish these companies wouldn’t make local releases for Australia, we are such a small market, most people don’t bother doing reviews on our region specific models.

        • To give you an idea, this uses an IPS-ADS panel which is what led to Hisense' downfall in Australia. Subpar LED subtype. Samsung pulled the same shit on me when I purchased the QN90A, extremely bright but awful blacks. Avoid like plaque.

          • @Maths Debater: Very good to know, I went in store a few months ago and it looked pretty good but I’ll compare it to the C8K and keep an eye on the blacks, what panel does the C8K use?

Is all that TCL fake QD tech clickbate or is there something to be worried about, every one seems to love the TCL here.

            • @yacman: It uses a VA LED subtype. Higher contrast ratio for better black uniformity. It isn't true QD but it still looks good. They're great value for money.

              • @Maths Debater: Thanks for the info, sounds like they would be better than the Hisense anyway so certainly food for thought, won’t be my main TV but will be in a room that gets a lot of light.

Plan to go in store and look at both in person, see what the reflections are like and test the speakers a bit.

From what I can tell I’ll hold on grabbing the C8K, it’s almost $1000 off RRP at the moment but $2500 is still high, ATL is $1900 and something with shipping.

Take an extra $4000 and put it towards an 85" C8K
