Melbourne Storm great Bronson Garlic is one of the Garlos

    • At least he'll be playing for a decent team next year.

  • Anyone tried the lean beef ? How does it compare to the regular?

  • These arrive at the store frozen, and then sold deforsted at most stores. Some stores keep it in the frozen section still, to avoid wastage.

    • I know this does happen a lot without us knowing, but that is crazy thawing a pie prior to sale, that arrives at the retailer frozen.

Bagels, cakes etc is one thing, but you are not supposed to refreeze an item containing meat after it has already been frozen and thawed.

Whenever I buy a pie from the supermarket, it comes from the freezer at the shop, and goes into the freezer when I get home.

      • If it’s thawed, how is it expected someone is to consume it? Do they provide food reheating facilities?

        • I think he was referring to the open fridges. My coles has them displayed like that so surely they aren't frozen

          • @Royale with cheese: Sorry for the confusion. These products are designed to be cooked regardles of wether they are fresh of frozen. Instructions will vary accordingly.

Some people (like my ex-wife) will not allow any meat that has been frozen, to be re-frozen, as that what is what she was taught at school (shame she couldn't cook).

Mind you (unknown to her), I would buy the fresh pies on special, take them home and freeze them. ;)

Also, I think, the pastry holds better if frozen?

I will be trying a couple to see how they actually taste. I cant imagine the pie market would be an easy one to get into, so perhaps there is something special about these pies??

  • had one of these today. the pastry is f**king gross. Just an overwhelming taste of margarine
