  • is this better than ausclimate?

    • I think these might be the guys that make Ausclimate…

      • Thanks for your interest. We are a factory backed operation here in Australia, bringing our retail brand to market for the first time. We have been supplying global brands in Europe and North America for over 30 years.

      • That's right.
I heard horror stories of the after customer service for NWT/ausclimate. Rather pay extra at Amazon for no headache warranty claims.

        • I had a good experience with Ausclimate when a part broke. Have one made by nwt sold by ausclimate and another I think made by ausclimate. Both going strong

I am guessing these are compressor not dessicant type right?

    • Good question.
My limited understanding is if it's compressor type, its not ideal for Melbourne's winter. And they're also more energy hungry.

Waiting for OP to confirm the type.

yes correct, these are compressor type dehumidifiers, suitable for usage in the range of 5° to 35°c.

    • I do like the fact that they have wifi and app capability (not many main stream models do) for remote control and automation, but would more prefer desiccant type which are better for cold/humid condition.

I have had a very poor experience with the 50L model. It’s brand new but when run leaked water from the back of the unit. Reached out to customer support and they gave me reason after reason to find a way not to replace the unit. I’d say stay away from this untrustworthy brand.
De’Longhi and IonMax are trusted brands and strongly recommended.

    • Sorry for your experience. May I please verify if it was an Ausclimate 50L model or the NWT WDH-50AAUW? With the NWT branded versions, we haven't come across any issues so far and would usually send replacements if it was a genuine fault. Please reach out if you wish to share specific details.
