I've got it too. Had most of its use when travelling overseas; me and my kid playing Minecraft on an old Pixel 6 Pro. Gets no use at home where there are other platforms.
yeah I wouldn't' pay for there backbone service they have, its literally just a game launcher. And allows control mapping on every game apparently
Controller mapping should just be free - i think gamesir and 8bitdo etc its included
Don't waste your money on this very specific use case controller with IAP.
Bought it and it was pain in the butt to use on a Pro Max, have to remove the case.
Then needed to pay to map controls. Only would buy if you specifically play games already supported with controllers. Good deal if you fall into that category.
This is perfect to use with the ipad mini 5 that I managed to get from Coles. Makes a budget PS Portal. Plus using it for PPSSPP or emulated games.
Been playing Ghost of Tsushima through PS Remote Play, and it works flawlessly.
Also note that you can actually use this on usb-c devices as well, by using a usb-c to lightning cable. Used it with my iPad Pro 11 as well
How well does it sit with a iPad mini 5 in it? Would a 7yr old break it quickly?
I'm assuming that the backbone doesnt extend far enough for the iPad Pro to use it as a massive handheld?
I was thinking of getting one to use on my kids 8th Gen iPad of a night but wasn't sure if it would fit properly and end up using it like a regular controller
Yeah, it wont fit the extension part.. but if you prop the ipad up and connect with a usb c to lightning it will work. Thats how i’ve been using it on the ipad pro 11.

It sits well, but have to take off any case on it. For a 7 year old maybe would be a bit heavy? Personally wouldn’t trust them without a case
